I used the service two years in a row, both times were in August.

The first year when I found the ME line, it looked very long. By the looks of it I thought I'd wait at least an hour. However, the line moved so fast I had my bording pass in 10 minutes and when I waited on line for the bus, I was on the bus in about 5 minutes. It was fantastic.

The second year - it was just as good. My experience with ME was unbelievable. I can't find one bad thing to say about it. Hopefully my experience was the norm rather than the exception.

Just got back last week. The magical express was great. Walked right on arriving and was picked up three hours before and got through security with about 45 minutes until flight time! Thanks for all the help!

Just hope that you don't get Publio as a driver. I actually felt unsafe because he was driving so slow on the highway. At one point I looked down at the spedometer and he was going 43 on the highway. Otherwise, ME was GREAT!

Just for the record - speed limits are the MAXIMUM you're allowed to drive. While in some areas there are also minimum speeds posted on highways, in the absence of those (usually 40, anyway), there's technically no rule regarding how slowly you can drive. In addition, even if a bus is going 43 mph, it's pretty definite that other drivers are going to see it, and adjust or change lanes. Unless, of course, he was driving at that speed in the passing lane?
Anyway, figure Disney is 20 miles from MCO. At 60, the trip would take 20 minutes; at 40, it would take ten minutes more.

Experience was mixed. Arriving at Orlando (12 PM) the line for registration was incredibly long, probably a 1 hour wait. Thankfully we had our luggage so we just took a taxi.
The return was excellent including checking in with the airline at the hotel which was very convenient.

Just curious how you gauged the time it would take the line to move. I mean, did you wait a few minutes and it was not moving, or did you glance at it and decide not to try it?

The reason I ask is, when I used DME last year, on the 4th day it as open, the line was HUGE, WAAAAY past the puny rope lines they set out. I got through it in 5 minutes (yes, I actually timed it, so I could report back to the board later as one of the first people to ever use DME). I counted, and there were 14 CMs working the counter, plus a couple of managers floating about.

Just curious. I'll be using DME again in November.

The line for DME check-in usually moves quite quickly, even if it looks long. With 5 to 10 thousand people using DME per day, they have to move people through registration quickly.

If you had your luggage, it either means you wasted time going to baggage claim and waiting there for your luggage to be unloaded (instead of using DME's wonderful luggage service). Or it means you only had carry-ons, which is now difficult (but not impossible), due to the new ban on liquids and gels.

The taxi was probably around $50. Magical Express would have been free.

And here I thought I was being 'out there' when I clocked the wait in line in May!!! Too funny. The line looked to be pretty long, if you just eyeballed it, about 50 or so people in the line. But, it only took me 7 minutes to make it to the counter. The other thing that people just can't seem to understand is that only one person in your party needs to be in that line. When I see entire families, lined up at the counter, I cringe. I can only imagine what people are thinking when they see that line......a line of 70 people when it should be a line of 30!!! There are CMs telling people to have one member of the party stand in line, everyone else should wait outside the roped off area, and then rejoin the member who signed them in at the bus lines.

The one trip where we used ME, there wasn't a line to check in, and only a few people ahead of us in our resort bus line. Unfortunately, we had to wait nearly an hour for the next bus that served our resort as they were waiting for a specific wheelchair-enabled bus. If they didn't have the need for that particular bus, it wouldn't have been a long wait at all.

Since then we've opted to get rental cars when visiting.
