My DH and I are doing a land/sea vacation in Sept. :Pinkbounc :bounce: We are staying at the Poly but are considering going to AK to see Festival of the Lion King before going to the ship. I know that you can get PS for breakfast at Donald's and passes for the show but we are not really intersted in a character breakfast. Are there other options?

You could have breakfast at your resort. every resort has a quick place to grab a bite. some have sit down restaurants too.
Most resorts have a small gift shop in them which also offers some things like patries, pop tarts and apples and bananas.
By the entrance to AK there is the rainforest cafe, but I don't think it is open for breakfast, only lunch and dinner. I know of no other sit down breakfast options in AK, most is lunch and dinner. some small stands have fruit and muffins in the morning, but they are portable and you would have to hunt them down to find where they are.
best bet is to grab a bite in your resort if you don't want a character breakfast with donald.

::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo Well after watching "Unwrapped" on the Food Network last night and seeing the characters interact with the guest my DH and I decided Donald's it will be!!! :mickeybar :mickeybar But thanks for he reply.

If you can get early seating at Restaruantasaurous, the food is buffet style and you should get thru it pretty quick...

We just did this last week - myself, DW & DS8. Not only was it fun and a good meal, we were able to see quite a bit of AK before leaving for the ship. We got a great photo taken outside the restaurant, our server was a riot and the characters circulated through pretty quickly, so we took our pictures then went on with our meal. We didn't get to eat on the ship until 2:30 or 3pm, so this was a good meal to tide us over, too. I recommend it, kids or no kids.

:teeth: Jrsy Boy glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed the AK. We are really looking forward to our trip. Did you use Magical Express to get to the ship? How was it? P.S I'm a Jrsy girl but live in Pa. now :)

I don't know that it was actually Magical Express. It was the same type of bus, but said "Disney Cruise Line" on it instead of "Magical Express" and, yes, we did take it. It wasn't too bad of a trip, but there is not much to look at so it was nice that they had informational videos and cartoons. If you get up early to do AK, you may also be snoozing on the bus.
After all the nice things Tom Waits and The Boss had to say about Jersey Girls, I went and married a Colorado girl anyway. Where in PA? I haven't been back to NJ in about a year and a half.

:flower: What time did you leave to get to the AK? What time was your breakfast PS? Did you have time after the show to visit the park? Sorry for all the questions but it's our first time staying in the park and my first cruise. :Pinkbounc  Live in Philly now but will always be a Jrsy girl :cheer2:

We were staying at POFQ and left there around 7:30am or so. The DCL rep at your resort will set it up for you when you check in for the cruise (if you specify that is what you want to do). Ours said to be at AK at 8am and when we got there, they were saying that all PS's for people going on the cruise were between 8-8:30.

We didn't bother with the show, opting instead to ride Dinosaur, which I would not recommend immediately after breakfast! But I would say depending on how quickly you eat, you could have 3+ hours in the park. I don't suspect the show would be more than an hour. We rode Dinosaur, Primevil Whirl twice, Triceratops Spin then rode the train (which was boring) and saw Its Tough to be a Bug (which we all loved). Even after all of that, we still had time for shopping and generally meandering.

This was our first land/sea also, so I'd be happy to help a fellow NJ native as best I can with any and all questions. Since we just got back last week, it is all fresh in my memory.
