1.) does anyone know tentative date when this is going to start? I think I heard "after May" or starting in May- is that a positive though? I'd hate to get right up to the date of the trip then find out we need to hurry and find other transportation for me and the kids and our luggage.

2.) I heard mention of this only working with SOME airlines- where would I find this info to find out if we'd be flying with an airline that it works with?

3.) Does anyone know if this runs all hours? Or if you have a late flight- would magical express not be available late?

Thanks!

It makes sense that a lot of questions can't be answered until this has actually started, but there are those of us who just have to know every little detail in advance  So, here goes......

1) If "DISNEY" picks up your luggage at the airport for you, you won't know if you have all of your pieces until you check in at your resort. Are they going to be as diligent as I would be to look for and find everything (I'm not so much concerned with the fact that something might get left behind -- but more so that I will lose that "control" over my things)

2) How often will these "motorcoaches" run? How long would/should you expect to wait for your ride to WDW? (and if they are picking up from multiple airlines and dropping off at multiple resorts, how long should you plan on it taking to get to your resort?)

3) We're planning our next trip in May (after the start-up), but we may have a late-arriving flight (around 11pm). They said this would be around-the-clock pick-up, but my party will be a mom and a 9 y/o DS. I wonder if this will work as well as a towncar for us?

Thanks- that link answered my questions. Sounds like it's definite (and have a definite date of May 5th thanks to the link), it IS only certain airlines but fortunately ones I would be using to get there, and it's using Mears (which I have experience with) and therefore is round the clock.

Thanks for the link!

CaseyJr- thanks for giving me something to worry about (your #1 question) LOL

As for #2- I can only answer what I know from experience with Mears- basically they run when they are full unless it's a late night flight- they won't sit around for HOURS waiting to fill it up. Atleast I hope not... I've never experienced that happening. In answer to your second part of that question... plan for a LONG time so you'll be happy when it doesn't take that long. In my experience it does take awhile if they are going to other resorts and your's happens to be last.

#3 is a personal choice. Go free/might take longer to get there... pay for towncar- most likely (unless there are any problems- which can happen I have read in the past...) get there faster. Depends on how much it's worth it to you to get there faster. I've used mears before- and we've used limo before. The Limo was great (plus the grocery stop something to consider if you get that with the towncar also and want to do the grocery stop) but that was only because it didn't cost us all that more than it would have cost us for other transportation (like mears) for a family of 5! I'm not sure I'll do limo when the transportation is FREE. Depends on how tight our schedule is, how short our trip is and how important that little extra time to get there means to us.

Ps. Ed how in the world do I find that info on wdwinfo again without hunting down this thread? I looked all over there for info on magical express and couldn't find it!

You could just type "express" (without the quotation marks) in the search box in the upper right corner and the first item you get in the results is on magical express (at least right now anyway).

You all need to read the info again. Anyone staying on site can use this service flying in on any domestic airline.

People going home from WDW can use it too, but only the listed airlines will allow you to check in at the resort before you leave for MCO.

Big difference.

Building on Ed's advice, typing in "magical express" with the quotes will give you a narrower list. The quotes make sure the phrase "magical express" appears and omits messages where the words appear but not together. With quotes: 103 message, without: 125 messages.
