Magical Express Question

If we have a early afternoon departure flight, do we have to go back to the resort (3 hours before flight) to check in and board magical express with our luggage or is there any service that would take our luggage from the resort to the airport, where we could leave straight from the park to MCO Airport?

During normal operation, Disney had Resort Airline Check-in available (only if you were flying on certain airlines and checking your luggage - they would not handle carry ons). But since COVID, that service is not available. So you would have to return to the resort to get your luggage and board DME. Also to note, DME does not pick up at the parks, only at the resort where you have a reservation.
