Magical Express question

We are booked to go to Disney in the Summer. There are 9 of us staying in the villa, so all on one reservation. 6 of us will be arriving at the beginning of the vacation and the other 3 people will be joining us a few days later. We will be renting a mini van, but not sure 6 people and all the luggage (probably 5 suitcases) will fit. My questions are, can some people ride DME at the beginning of the trip? And can the 3 people joining us later in the trip use DME to and from the airport? I hope I am making sense in what I am asking.

Yes and yes.

Any number of persons registered in your Disney's resort room/suite/villa/campsite can take Magical Express to Disney on or after check in day and take DME back to the airport on or before check out day.

Just be sure each person or sub-group has an advance reservation. For going back to the airport a written reservation for a specific bus on the applicable guest(s)'s departure day, prepared at Disney, is required.

Can't speak for other brands but unless they are all really large bags, they will fit easily into a Dodge or Chrysler minivan along with six people.

Yes, some can take DME (with the bags tagged) while others drive. And yes, those arriving later can ride DME..as long as they are listed on your resort reservation.
I can't imagine being able to fit 5-6 regular sized suitcases in a minivan. I used to drive one....if I had six people in that van, there was room for, possibly, 3 bags. It's not a large cargo area behind that third seat! I would tag all the bags, let DME handle them. Then some can go in the car, some on the bus.

I used to drive MBA taxi out of RSW and we mostly used the Chrysler built minivans. With the stow and go, five regular suitcases was not a problem. If we had to, with six people, we could fold down the one section of the third row for even more room.

There is no way I would have fit 6 suitcases in my van if I was using the,third row. And then you'd have to keep your carry-on on your lap. My carry-on is a rolling suitcase plus my personal item is,a backpack. And,what if someone has 2 checked bags???
Let a few ride DME and let Disney handle all the checked luggage. One of the best services they have!!

We went to the airport for our vacation last year with six people (the youngest 10) and luggage in our Toyota Sienna. We put down part of the back seat and had enough room.

Our last trip was 4 adults and 2 kids, each with a full sized suitcase, kids had backpacks, adults had carry-ons, and we all fit in a Toyota Sienna to the airport.

Thank you everyone for your replies. Your replies are very helpful. We will have 3 adults and 3 kids (one in a car seat). I think we could manage in a minivan, but have some time to sort it out.
