Magical Express Question

We go to Disney (almost) every year for Christmas. We've already started throwing around ideas for next year. We realized that December 23rd falls on a Saturday. We usually fly down early on 12/24, board ME then board ME to Disney.

I'm wondering if 12/23 will be cheaper to fly or if we'd benefit from getting down there a day early, waking up 12/24 and being in or heading to Disney. I definitely think we'd benefit from a better night's sleep.

ANYWAY - one idea we threw around was getting down to Orlando on 12/23, spending the night in MCO's Hyatt, then heading to Disney on 12/24. My question is... would we be able to fly in 12/23, get our own luggage (we never send it through Disney), spend the night at MCO, then take the Magical Express the next day?

I'm pretty sure our family friends did this a few years ago, but I can't remember.

Yes, you can. You give ME a real flight number for around the time you want to head over to the resort. They don't care that you weren't really on the plane, and you bring your luggage with you as normally do.

I'm not sure the fake flight number thing is even necessary. I've done this twice - flown in on one day, and rode DME on a later day, and I've never needed to do this. I did reserve DME by phone both times though. I suppose if you want to reserve it online, the flight info would be required.

Yes, online does require a flight number (or used to, it may have changed since the last time I did an online request)

We ve done this several times without issue... rest up first night at Hyatt MCO before heading out early morning to start refreshed. My only suggestion with that is late arrivals at MCO do not offer much in way of food as they seemed to close earlier than expected. But you can eat at Hyatt ($$) if need be.
Enjoy and safe travels!

just another suggestion.. check on the prices of the All star resorts. We have found that both times we flew in the night before a night at all stars was cheaper than the Hyatt. We looked at it as just a hotel room to sleep so we were going with whatever was cheaper. We are doing this again in 2 weeks.

You can just give them your actual flight number. Check in as usual the next day at the DME counter on level 1, terminal B. They only ask the flight info as it helps them determine how many motor coaches they should schedule
