Magical Express question

We will be flying into MCO on 2/22. We would like to go right to Universal to spend one night, then check into Wilderness Lodge late evening of 2/23. I found a good rental car rate for $50 pickup 2/22 and bring back MCO the evening of 2/23.

My question is, can we take the Magical Express after we drop the rental car back off at the airport on 2/23? And if so, how do we go about doing that? We realize that we'll be responsible for our own luggage. Will they just accept that we're taking Magical Express based on our check-in date?

I know the rental car seems like a hassle, but I think its more expensive to take a taxi from airport to Universal, then from Universal to WDW, right?

You can do this but you need to have a make up flight number to attach to your DME reservation for the day u would like transported

Ugh, yeah I don't really like the idea of doing that. I might have to think of something else if that's the case.

Just be sure you call and get a reservation. You are not allowed to just walk up and get on a bus simply because you have a resort reservation. You don't need to have any flight info..if they ask, just tell them you are being dropped off at the airport, and at what time. You do not need to be flying into MCO on the day you want to take the bus..plain and simple. If you are given a hard time, hang up and call back a few minutes later.

I don't know what rental company you are using, but have you looked into renting at MCO and returning at WDW? Alamo/National have offices at both the Dolphin and the Car Care Center. Other companies have counters at other DTD resorts...for instance, Budget is at the Doubletree. You could drop everyone off at the resort, with bags, and then return the car and head back to the resort. Some companies will take you back to your resort, or you can take a Disney bus, from DTD.
