Magical Express Packet?

This is my family's first trip to WDW together and I am so clueless on what I am actually to expect in the mail & when. I have visited before, but I've never been in charge of planning anything!
We are leaving on August 10 for our vacation, just two weeks from now, and still haven't received ANYTHING in the mail about DME, luggage tags, reservations, or anything. I've read that I should receive some kind of packet with DME info & luggage tags, but I don't know anything about what I'm actually looking for!! What should I expect and when do I start to get worried about not getting the information I need? I've been planning this trip for almost a year and I'd like an idea of when I should expect something. Of course, I'm also a compulsive worrier, so I don't know if I should be calling after these things or if I'm just insane. Also, who do I call to get my information should I choose to do so?

Thanks SOO much for any help.

Package? Or room reservation?

Booked directly? Or booked through a Travel Agent?

Package, yes, you should get package documents. Room-only, no.

Booked yourself, all documentation should have been mailed to you. Travel Agent, all documents would have been sent there and you'll have to 'harass' the TA.

Magical Express, you should get/have gotten an envelope about 4" x 7" with the booklet with your vouchers and yellow luggage tags.

If you booked a package directly, call WDTC - the 1-407-WDISNEY number - in the morning and see what's up with your paperwork.

There's a toll-free number for Magical Express - it starts with 866, and should be in some of the DME-related threads.

Thanks so much! That clears up a lot of confusion! And I'll be on the phone calling about my DME stuff right away! Thanks again. :thumbsup2

I just checked with our travel agent yesterday. She told me to expect my packet about 10 days prior to departure.

I am going in August, I made my DME reservations on June 27 and had my booklet and luggage tags on July 9th, I think the OP should call them.

God forbid, you don't receive the yellow baggage tags - a few people have noted not getting theirs in time, then just make sure you have all of your baggage claim tickets when you register at the ME desk. They will still claim your baggage. You just need to have the baggage claim tickets in order for them to retrieve them.

I am so jealous - you are so close - I have 16 weeks to go.

Just an update:

I called DME yesterday and apparently my reservation was never saved. I know I booked it because I made a special call after we decided to fly instead of drive and I even recorded the name of the representative I spoke with, but it was never saved or made official! It was even on our My Disney Vacation profile/reservation, so I wasn't worried until we got past the 21 day mark and still had no information.

Thankfully, the agent I spoke to today was very helpful and understanding about the situation. She assured me that she was printing my information immediately and that I would receive it sometime this week or early next week and apologized for my inconvenience.

So I guess what I'm getting at is that sometimes you need to worry about not receiving your luggage tags and booklet because it could be more than just a mailing error.

Disney has been sending out the DME packets about 4-5 weeks before departure date. If you book with a TA, the packet will get sent along to them, and they in turn will have to send it to you. That will add about a week or so to your expected delivery date.
But...if you booked DME at least 2 months before your trip, and you haven't gotten anything from them at the 3 week mark, I would always call. There have been many reports of people who made their DME reservations but didn't get put into the system. So, if you booked early enough to expect the packet at the 4-5 week mark, and you don't get it, call them to be sure you are in the system.
