Magical Express packet wrong!

Good thing I checked our ME tags...they had the wrong resort on them! I called MS this morning and she was very nice and fixed it so when they scan them our bags SHOULD go to the correct resort. I'm a bit worried though. She couldn't explain why they were wrong, she said sometimes that happens with a WL but we have had these reservations for a while, def since before I called with our flight info. Weird, right?
 
I had an error on mine for my last visit as well. They had the wrong dates of my flights AND the wrong resort!

I called MS and they sent me new tickets.
 
and say I believe that you changed it in the computer but I would feel more comfortable with new tickets stating the correct resort. There is no reason why they can't send you new tickets unless of course you leave tomorrow.
 
We leave on Sat so there is no time for new luggage tags! I REALLY hope the luggage makes it to our resort. Would feel better if someone else had a similar story with a good result?!
 

When you deal with MS, you are dealing with a middle man. Call ME direct to verify your ME reservation.

I would handwrite your correct information on the tags.
 
I did use a Sharpie to cross out the SSR destination and wrote Boardwalk. MS assures me the computer is right now, and verified that it WAS wrong. Think I still need to call ME?

That's up to you, all I can say is MS has given me a lot of incorrect info in the past for what ever reason and I like to deal with them as little as possible.

why not pick your luggage up at the airport once you arrive and bring it to the bus with you. Yes more hassle but at least you have it and it doesn;t end up lost. They disney still haven;t found my xmas tree from 2 years ago

We had a wait list come through within 2 weeks of our trip ms told us to cross out the old resort and write in the new......all went as planned and our luggage was delivered to the correct resort on may 14th of this year......hope our expericence helps you

You will be fine, we have had last minute resort changes and did exactly that with a sharpie and they got there just fine. Don't sweat it, they probably just mixed up the luggage tags with someone else.

My understanding is that they don't just go off the scanners, but actually check the tags for changes.

We are getting there early and I hate to have to wait for the luggage...that is why ME is so great! I will call and confirm. They couldn't have sent us the wrong tags as they have our names on them, it is just REALLY odd that they had the wrong resort.

On the WDW site it never acknowledged that we have ground transport with our reservation either, which is weird.
 
Ok so I called ME and they say NOT to use the wrong tags...just to give them our baggage claim tickets from when we check the bags at our home resort. ACK!!! WWYD?

I would still use your tags with your name on it and hand change the resort. This has been done by many many people before. If it has a yellow tag it will be pulled for WDW....and transferred there. If you give them your luggage tags, they have to go get them off the belts and you are more likely that somoene else could pick up your bag by accident.

Remember if you keep calling, you will get a different answer every time! :thumbsup2
 
If it were me, I would ask them to fedex me a new packet with the correct tags. If that didn't happen in time, I would not tag my luggage, and I would get it myself. The small hassle of dealing with the bags myself is preferable to having to track down my bags from goodness-knows-where later that night.

(And, honestly---if I'm getting my own bags, I might just as well book a towncar to get to the resort too. It's a few extra bucks, but a nice splurgy way to start your vacation off right.)
 
MS said the tags would work fine...and it seems like many people have done this. I am worried that without the yellow tags the bags will get lost!

And I want to take ME...it is a fun way to start our vaca watching the video on the bus with the kids. But I really don't want to wait for my bags!

In addition to changing the name of the resort, you should also cross through the "DD" in the Mickey head on the tag. "DD" designates the truck for the Downtown Disney area. You should replace it with "EC" for the Epcot resort area.
