Can I sign up for ME on-line? I rented points from a DVC owner. Does the owner have to do it for me? Is it by phone only?

I did a search & couldn't find the answer. Thanks!

Since you rented points for DVC the owner has to call member services and make the DME reservation for you. DME for DVC members has to be done through DVC

PP is correct, the DVC member will needs to call DVC member service and give them your flight numbers. You will need to keep track of your flight as DME tracks you by your flight number. So, if the airline changes the number, happen to us, the DVC member will need to call again with the change. Now, I'm not sure whether DME will send the tags to you, or the member, so be sure the member asks.

Just a correction....DME does not track you by your flights. They really don't care about what flight you're on. All they care about is that you have booked a reservation with them and that they need to take any yellow tagged bags away before those bags get to the public baggage claim. Many people arrive at MCO via other means and still use DME.
I have had flights change and have yet to alert DME to the changes.

I have used our friend's DVC points twice, and both times he booked our ME reservation online through member services and both times our ME tags were sent directly to me.

While DME doesn't track you specifically I believe they do track the flight numbers for the return trip so they know what bus to schedule you on. If there is a flight number change you need to notify DME not a time change.
