Do you wonder if your magical express luggage tags have your room number on them? I see my reservation number but there is a series of numbers underneath it, I just wondered if four of those numbers are the room number.... we just got ours today. I was also wondering if they arrive seperate from the rest of the accomadations and vouchers. We only received the ME stuff so far for our Sept 22 trip.....Heather

Yes, they do arrive separately. We go in 35 days and I got my ME packet the other day, but I have not received the rest of it yet...I expect it at about 21 days.

As to the room number question, I can't say. We threw them away in the room before we left to come home so can't look back on one now that I know the room numbers either. Would be interesting if they were, but the number of cancellations and changes they get it would probably be very hard to assign rooms very far in advance...they usually send out the ME stuff about 40 days out.

There's no room number on the ME tag. Rooms are assigned a few days before you arrive, or while you're standing at the check-in desk.

did you book through disney itself or through a travel agent? I noticed that people are reciving some things for their trips and I haven't gotten anything yet. Just wondering if it will all go to the travel agent instead of my house?

I booked myself through Disney this time, but I have booked through a travel agent too. When you book through a travel agent, the documents are sent to them and they will send them to you. My AAA agent called me and asked me if I wanted to come pick them up or have her send them. I picked them up because I am always impatient to have them in hand. :goodvibes

This time, at about 38 days out, I had the ME tags and at 30 days I got the travel documents from Disney. Not sure how much time you have left but if it is about three weeks I'd call the agent and ask :) If nothing else, it will make you feel better...they may be hanging onto your ME packet until the rest comes to send them together :)

If you book through an agent, the DME packet will be sent to the travel agent, who in turn will have to send it on to you. So, this adds some addtl time to the process.
As far as the room number being on your luggage tags, nope, they are not. Rooms are basically blocked out a few days ahead. Then, when the guest gets to the resort, they are given a particular room. There have been more times than I can count that I have been offered a choice of rooms if it isn't busy at that resort. If you are using DME, when you checkin with them at the airport, the resort is alerted that you are coming in, so they can grab a room for you then otherwise you would have to wait until you got to the counter. Yes, it seems convoluted but it seems to work. Those using DME will get a slight edge on room requests over those using their own transportation from the airport to resort.
You do not have a room assigned to you until you are at the resort checkin counter...as soon as they make up a room key for you, that's when your room is yours.

I know goofy4tink knows everything, so I'm just reinforcing her post (ow! you can stop twisting my arm now, Diane - I said I'm on your side!).

The Magical Express tags are sent out as far ahead of time as possible (note to self - attach tags tonight so you don't forget, you know you always forget something at the last minute and you don't want it to be your luggage at MCO), within preset constraints - e.g. close to your trip but not at the last minute. This time frame, combined with the Magical Express department having absolutely no connection to the room reservations department would preclude any such coding.

But, just to be 100% sure, I will check my tags when I get home. I know how the rooms are numbered at Pop Century, and I'll see if I can relate ANY numbers on my tags to anything resembling a room number.

thank you so much for helping me. I think I may be making a call to my AAA agent today. We have about 21 days until we go and I am like you, very anxious to get my stuff so I know everything is in place!

My luggage tags came last night in the same package as my package info/vouchers, but there was nothing in there about Magical Express other than the luggage tags...

Looks like I'll be calling the Mouse this weekend! :smickey:

I am doubting that those are your Magical Express tags, but they would probably be your souviner tags from Disney.

Your ME tags are yellow strips of adhesive similar to what the airport uses to tag your bags. They will arrive seperately from your WDW vouchers/documents.

How does ME determine how many tags to send? Do they automatically send 2 per traveller, or do you need to inform them of how many bags you plan on checking?

I got my ME tags, I thought everything was okay until I checked the flight number! It is the wrong flight number, my flight got changed and they sent the tags with the first flight number instead of the new one. I called disney and they said if I don't have a new set sent to me within 5 DAYS of departure to call them! I WILL NOT wait that long I'm scared they won't arrive in time!:sad2:

I got my tags the other day and there was no flight info listed. I went to the website and added my flights. Do I need to do anything else? Do I need a new set of tags?:confused3

You do not need a new set of tags if your flight info wasn't on there. As long as the tags have your reservation number on them it will be fine.
