Magical Express Help!

Comfort level during a stay at a resort under construction really depends on the traveller's plans, IMO. I stayed at Poly when it was undergoing significant construction (main closed pool, much of the lobby blocked off, etc.) a few years ago. I chose Poly because our party wanted to be close to MK for MNSSHP and liked that we could walk to the TCC for Epcot. We weren't planning on hanging at the resort much except for afternoon naps and a bit of shopping/snacking.

It worked out great for us! I researched ahead of time and requested (and received) a room well away from construction areas. Our room was quiet and peaceful...very relaxing. There were lots of walls blocking the construction areas, both inside the Grand Ceremonial House and outside around the pool, etc., but that didn't bother us. There were still good views/places to sit and enjoy the resort on the side of the resort closest to GF, and access to a newly-renovated Captain Cook's was easy. We were able to grab drinks at the bar and coffee, because eateries inside the resort were open.

Now...if my kids were there, they would have wanted a nice pool, so Poly would have been out. But it fit our needs that trip. If you aren't planning on swimming or using the resort much, CBR should be fine. You can request a place away from the main construction areas, and the rooms at CBR were recently renovated, so are updated and nice, IMO. However, if you can swing a bit more cost and want a resort not under construction (or not under as much construction), the other Mods are nice too...POR is my favorite and one of my favorite resorts at WDW. And, again IMO, the convenience of staying on site is worth savings of staying off site, especially if you're not renting a car! Peace of mind doesn't come with a price tag, but it's valuable to me!

Now I've thought about it, onsite sounds a lot easier! A tad more expensive, but probably worth it. Do you have any tips for travelling solo to WDW?
Do everything you want to do and don't feel obligated to do anything you don't like. Without having to conform to others means you can get most of everything done in a few days! I like to stop by bars and lounges because it's usually easy to find people to talk to. World Showcase is also wonderful when solo, especially in the evenings once the kids are tired and the adults come out to play.

Thanks for the tips!
