Ok, this is our 2nd time to WDW and our first time using Magical Express.

I am looking for a bit of info so I know what to expect when I get there.

How does Disney/Mears schedule buses to arrive at the airport, we will have to wait a while for a bus to arrive.

Is there one bus for all the resorts and is there a set schedule as to which resort they go to first?

Thanks

When you get off the plane you will have to go to the magical express booth and they will tell you which line to get in and it will take you to your resort. You may have to wait for the bus to get there and it will run to the resort your staying at but it will also go to a couple of others. The only problems we had with it was it was late taking us back to the airport. They were taking people to the airport in taxis for some reason:confused3

They were taking people to the airport in taxis because Mears (DME) did not have a bus available to dispatch and pick you up. The taxis will run their meters and charge Mears for the meter price. It is referred to as an APL.

January was our first time using it and I wish someone had said where ME was. My husband and I were getting a little tiffed at each other. You go to the area where you can renta car and go almost to the very end of the long long corridor. Then you will see it. Once you are there it is so easy to do. you hand them the ME papers you were sent and they check on whatever they do and then they send you to the lines for the right ME bus. There was liek 4 lines to get in, which they tell you to get in and you get on a bus. We waite in line 1 minute tops and then got on a bus and it filled fairly fast, maybe 15 minutes. Then we were off. They dropped people off at 4 Disney hotels all in the same area. It is very easy. Loved ME. Will do it everytime we can

In everyone's experience, how long does it take to get from the airport to your hotel (in my case, POP), including waiting for the bus, dropping off other passengers, etc.?

When you get your DME info packet, you will find a very good diagram as to how to get to the checkin desk from your airline gate. It is located on Side B of the terminal, on level 1. You will arrive on level 3, baggage claim is on level 2. Level 3 is where all the shuttles are.
As far as how long it will take you.....the average being reported is about 70 minutes from plane to resort. I've used DME 4-5 times now. I've had times ranging from 60 minutes to 90 minutes. The one time it was 90 mins was when I was at POP, and it was the last of three stops. And there seemed to be a large number of people that had brought their luggage to the bus with them. So..not only did you have to wait while the other resorts were dropped off, you had to wait an extra amount of time while the driver unloaded a large number of bags from underneath the bus each time. I had never seen quite so many bags under the bus going to the resorts. It almost looked the same as when the bus is returning to the airport from the resorts and a lot of people have no other options for luggage transfer. The other two times I stayed at POP and used DME, POP was the first stop....go figure.
I would plan on about 70-80 minutes.
