Magical Express changes

We've had some major schedule changes with our trip and almost expect there to be more before we go. Right now we have our ME reserved under the details of our old flight schedule.

With the thought that there will probably be more changes to our arrival times or to our flight numbers does it make sense to wait until maybe a week before our trip to update ME? I only worry about waiting because I can see myself forgetting or not finding the time to do it.

What if I didn't find the time to re-schedule and left it as is....would we be allowed on the bus having arrived a few hours earlier than it says on our ressie?
Our bags would get to our room only because they have the right tags, so that's not the concern, right? It's our ME bus ride I have to worry about, correct? LOL

I wouldn't get too worried. This past September was our first time on ME and it wasn't exactly what we expected. Here is what we misunderstood.

1) there isn't a bus waiting for you. What I mean is there isn't a passenger lists for each bus.

2) You don't just get off your plane and walk onto a bus. You have atleast two lines to wait in before you get to the bus.

3) if your luggage doesn't show up, don't assume it is on it's way to your room. It might still be at the airport.

This is what we experienced.

We arrived to MCO around 3pm on a Saturday. I think this might be rush hours for this airport. Once you follow you map in your booklet, and the rest of the people on your flight who are going to use the ME, to the ME area, you will be queing up.

You only need one person in your group to que but if you have more than on room on your reservations, make sure the person in the que knows how many pieces of luggage each room has and has the ME booklets for each room in hand.

Then you go to another holding area till they seperate you into line by which resort you are staying at.

Once you are in this line, it all depends on how qucikly the buses are coming, and how big you resorts lines is, as to whether you get on the next bus or not. Our bus only stopped at CBR so I can't vouch for how long it takes to get to your resort.

If you wanted to bring a piece of luggage with you instead of waiting for it to be delivered, just don't put the yellow tag on it and retrieve it yourself when you get in. If you put the yellow tag on it, it won't make it to the pick up area. You will have plenty of time to get it.

On your way to the resort the bus video says how long it takes to get your luggage I think. If it isn't there by then, CALL. Half of ours never left the airport so if it wasn't for us calling, God only knows when it would have shown up.


Now don't get me wrong. I really liked using the ME. Our drivers where so funny. This was the first time our group went without cars and we were quite nervous about it. Other than the luggage problems coming and going, it was very smooth.

I just can't emphasis how important it is to notify someone if your luggage isn't where it should be. Don't assume it is being taken care of. We left at 6pm on a Saturday and we had called from one of our rooms that morning to have bell hop pick up our luggage. When we arrived that the Customs house at the scheduled time, the only luggage that was there was the luggage from the room we called from. Even though I specificly said and listed all three rooms. Of course that is in no way ME's fault.

In bound flights really don't matter they just use that info for staffing and a few delays here or there are built in I'm sure.

The return is where you want to keep things as acurit as possible and that change can be made when your checking into the DME counter.If it changes during your stay you can call after you find out.

So again no big deal or problem at all.
