Magical Express/Car rental

I usually drive down to WDW, but I found some really good prices on round trip tickets, so I will be flying this time and I was hoping to get some help. My question is I know they had some bugs with ME when it started, has anyone had any recent experiences with it? :confused3 Is the luggage making it to the room in time? Also, we may just want to take a day trip somewhere, and I was wondering if Disney has a car rental service on site somewhere. Any info is appreciated!! :wave2:

Had perfect ME service.

There are at least two places to rent a car on WDW property.
I do it by making advance ressies with National Car Rental, then taking a WDW bus to the Swan hotel and picking up the car there.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if it's difficult to book a car the night before? We'll be down there for 10 days :woohoo: and don't really know if we will be going off site. However, if we decide to, it may just be the night before. TIA!! :wave:
 
As one of the guinea pigs who used DME on its 4th day in existence, I wasn't aware of ANY bugs in the system, and I didn't hear of any when discussing it with other guests during my week in the World. I mean, EVERY system has bugs, but what I'm saying is I'm not aware that there were initial problems (except with mailing out the luggage tags in time) that needed to be fixed and are working better now.
 

As for luggage making to the room "in time", I'm not sure what you mean by that. There isn't a definitive length of time for luggage delivery - it will arrive within a few hours of when you check in. If you arrive late in the evening, you can request that your luggage be held until the next morning.
When flying, ALWAYS pack a carry-on with documents, medications, valuables and enough clothing & toiletries for your first 24 hours. In 2005, the airlines misdirected about 100,000 pieces of luggage per day.
 
Thanks for the info. As for "in time", I guess your answer was what I meant. I phrased it wrong. I meant to ask if it would be there within a few hours or so. And believe me, I plan on packing a days worth of clothing and meds on our carry on. The last time I flew, they put my luggage on the wrong plane and it didn't arrive until the next day! :rolleyes2
