Magical Express Cancellation Question

When I booked my package, I signed up for Magical Express, but then we decided to get a rental car. Do we need to cancel the Magical Express or do we just not put the luggage tags on?

Along those same lines....we are traveling as part of a group (21 people) booked to attend a convention, including reservations for DME. 2 of the 21 wish to rent a car and don't want to use Magical Express. Does the same thing apply? simply don't put on the luggage tags? Does someone go over a checklist of the entire group before the bus will leave?

thanks :)

I'm told they won't "wait for stragglers" unless you specifically ask and the answer may still be no. (except the last bus of the night or times when the next bus is severely delayed.)

While it would be nice to call them and cancel just those two Disney bound reservations, there is a chance the entire ressie could be screwed up so my feeling for today is the same as the previous poster, just don't put the tags on the affected luggage.

Oops! A slight risk! There has been at least one recorded instance when untagged baggage was summarily taken out of the airport, onto DME trucks, and to the resort because the guest's name was on Disney's DME list. It happened late at night when lists are scrutinized more carefully to avoid closing down before the last guests have arrived and to help make baggage magically appear in rooms more quickly.

Our son is in the larger part of the group that is taking DME to the resort, and our checked suitcase will be tagged to go with him to avoid something like that happening.

I've tried contacting the office of the group arranging this conference, to alert them of our transportation needs...I am pretty sure they don't understand what I'm asking them to do. They've never worked with Disney before, and I have a sense that our names will still be on the DME list when in arrive in a few weeks. I'm planning on calling Disney myself to try and remove the names, in the event that does happen.

As a last resort, I won't tag anything that shouldn't go on the bus.
