Magical Express- baggage service or not?

Could anyone tell me if you have a flight that comes in late at night 10PM what time do they deliver luggage in the AM or do you have to call? Thank you.

After 10 you have to pick up your own luggage and take it on the bus with you.

Is there a list somewhere of which airlines participate in RAC? I'm assuming Virgin America does not since I think they just started going to Orlando (I think).

From Disney's website:
Resort Airline Check-In Service is available with the following airline carriers:

AirTran Airways
Alaska Airlines
American Airlines
Continental Airlines
Delta Air Lines
JetBlue Airways
Southwest Airlines
United Airlines
US Airways

We always use it, but we leave from Maryland early in the morning, so often times our room wouldn't be ready anyway. We wear what we want down, take a back pack and have everything else checked.

We have them delivered and use RAC when going home.

Me too. But, I always have a carryon bag with everything I may need for that first day. I've learned my lesson. I put a swimsuit in, a change of clothes, a book and all my documents. A small bag of toiletries so I can freshen up a bit and I'm good to go.

You can collect it yourself or wait until morning. I have done both. No problem waiting if you have what you need in carryon.

Getting conflicting info....I was counting on bringing a carryon with stuff we will need and getting the main luggage in morning. but did not know if they just deliver or you have to call and let them know...
Someone posted you Had to get the luggage and I don't want to leave it at the airport and then never get my luggage??? I know they used to deliver it a few years ago but stopped but I am traveling with my DD and family(they booked this trip) and did not know the procedure since our plane is schedualed in right before 10 PM and I don't want to have the wrong ifno...I had already told them to pack a carry on so we would be all set the next morning but was wondering if you call them or they just deliver it in the morning? Thanks for any input.

Hello,
Can you still use RAC if you decide not to take magic express back to MCO, and instead use a taxi or shuttle service?
Thanks,
mike

Yes. We do it all the time because we use rental cars. As long as your airline is one of the participating airlines you can use RAC. Be sure to check the hours (I think they are 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM). Your bags need to be checked at least 3 hours before flight departure.

We let Disney handle the bags both ways and love RAC! Makes it so easy at the airport. :goodvibes

On our trip earlier this month, we did opt to carry our bags onto ME (I was traveling with my mom and she preferred doing it that way). It was fine. But we have had no issues letting Disney handle them.

I hate waiting to get my baggage for the airport, I say let the Mouse do it! Nice and easy a great way to start you vacation!

We always rent a car or drive, but this year, for both our trips, we are not renting and using ME.

As a control freak and type A personality, I am having a hard time thinking about getting off the plane and walking onto ME without my luggage :confused3 What is the longest any of you have had to wait and is there anyone that didn't receive their bags? :scared1:

We all will have clothes for 4 days at BWV and THVs and then a 5 night cruise. My children are older (17 and 13) so they can also wheel their own luggage.

Is there anyone else like me that just has let it go and it worked out fine (or not?)

Thanks so much!

4 hours is the longest we've had to wait for our luggage. Unfortunately, that was from from around 9pm to 1am...

Thanks all for the info- I think the plan is to have them handle the luggage and bring a carry on with some items we would need for the 1st day.

We love ME and not having to worry about our luggage is a huge plus. We have only had one time where we had to call about our luggage because it didn't arrive in the time they said. There was a delay because of the vehicle they were using that day. It made us a little nervous but they could tell us where our luggage was so that helped. We were able to go to the parks and come back after the fireworks and our luggage was finally there. We had packed all our stuff for the parks in our carry-on. I know most people suggest putting swim stuff in your carry-ons when you bring kids. We have used it many times and the last couple times we even were able to check in our luggage at our hotel so didn't even have the luggage on our ride back to the airport.
