so I've used ME express before but always got my own luggage out of bag check. This time we're going to the park on arrival day, so I want to save time. I am nervous though leaving our bags up to someone else.
Has anyone ever had any issues with letting them get your bags. Lost bag or it didn't make it to your room until the next day or something?
Thanks!

I've let ME handle my bags countless times and never had an issue.
I imagine it does happen from time to time - like losing your checked bags with an airline ....

We've never had a problem. Love the service. Don't expect to see your bags again until several hours after you land, so keep a carry on bag with necessities to use until then.

Thanks guys! And I'll check out the transportation board as well. I thought I'd seen something here so I asked.

Magical Express started running at the beginning of May 2005.
Even if just 10,000 people (probably many more) use DME daily, that's over 44 million guests.
Most delayed luggage is due to the airlines.
Disney will act as your agent in filing claims for, and delivering, misdirected luggage.

I always have clothes and other necessities for at least a day or two in my carryon. I'd be more concerned with the airline losing my luggage than the DME. I love being able to go to my resort, drop off my carryon either in my room or at bell services, and head over to Epcot.

We've never had any problems with DME losing our luggage or taking and exorbitant amount of time getting our bags to our room.

You stand a much greater chance of the airlines misdirecting your bags than you do with DME!!! Sure, there have been some bags that have gone astray, but they are usually found at another WDW resort...not across the country!!!
As already noted, pack a carry on bag with anything you may need for the first six or so hours of your stay. If it's hot, I would pack swim suits too!!

The only issue we have ever had with DME bags is having them delivered 'late' the day we arrived, and when I say 'late' it's not really late but just not as speedy or convenient as you would desire if given the choice. For example, when staying at the Contemporary during one vacation, we arrived and the bags were only brought to the room around 9pm, this is by far and away not the norm from our experience but it is possible depending on how busy they are etc... Hence the suggestions to take a carry on that can get you by for an entire day just in case! ;o)

I've literally flown hundreds of thousands of miles much of it international over the past 30 years. The ONLY time I ever had a lost bag was in Orlando before ME. I was late getting to baggage claim and someone stole my bag. It was gone forever.

I trust ME much more than letting a bag go out on the baggage carousel. It's much safer to go directly to Disney handlers.

Each time we used DME, the luggage arrived very promptly.

Last trip, we got off DME, checked in, and went right to our room (which was ready) to freshen up before lunch. Our luggage beat us to the room!

DME was pretty speedy getting us to POR also.
