Magical Express a mess this morning!

So what? Is the bus supposed to have their name printed on the side?
To me, that's the main issue. Disney says "meet your bus at 6:45". The bus NEVER SHOWED UP. THAT'S a problem. I don't think it's unreasonable to contact Disney and say "We were assigned to the 6:45 DME bus. That bus never showed up. Fortunately, there was room on the 7:15 bus (which showed up at 7:35) and we made our flight."

Why assign anyone to a bus and the bus not show?

They could have made the situation a little easier to take by saying "you're being moved to the 7:15 bus"

And if you think about it, the "manager type" who said "your bus will be here shortly" was wrong... their bus never showed up (or showed up after the 7:15 bus).

It could have been intentional and would have been within tolerances* to at the last minute reschedule, since they were not too many in number, all of the 6:45 and 7:15 guests on the bus that is really the 6:45 bus but which shows up late at 7:05. But deviating outside of tolerances is the fact that said "6:45" bus didn't show up until 7:35; another bus should have been injected into the mix sooner.

In all actualilty, most are responding to just one person.

Is that just one person you? What was the point of that sentence? Who cares if it's 'just one person"?

With the exception of just one poster that I complained to the moderator about it's been quite civil.


I assume this means that you are guaranteed to be on a flight home at no added expense to you. Disney would personally, er, corporately, er, make real magic come out of Magical Express to, make that happen. And that is all that counts.

Your role in the process is following the instructions which includes waiting on the platform from 15 minutes before a time printed on a sheet of paper and filling out and abiding by any paperwork that may be required if the crack you fell into was too deep.

By the way, I do not consider "force majeure" to be applicable to any of the events that the OP described even if there was a shortage of buses in Magical Express livery or drivers for them. Rather, it would still be a schedule irregularity.

Of course it is. It's a problem for Disney. Unless the OP didn't make it to the airport on time....it's not a problem for the OP.

Yes, as I've stated a few times now, the one thing they could have done is said something like..."don't worry, we're working on it for you, etc". We don't know if they actually knew their solution or that info what filtering down to the guy at the hotel in real time. The guy there was their only interface and it's possible he didn't know the exact details of Disney's solution, so his only option for communication was to say they know and a bus is coming. Which, according to the OP, he did. A more reassuring tone could have been in order though, as it seems the main issue being discussed by most people here is simply...............................stress.

It depends on the definition of "your bus". They got on a bus, which became "their bus" the moment they boarded it, just not bus 45678.
 
I am going to make a general apology here to the majority of posters. I am removing my moderator hat for a moment.

My response to the above??? Yeah, whatever. No need to argue any points. That doesn't mean you're right..it means I don't care. Your points are no more valid than anyone else's. It's all about perspective.

Nope...sorry. The 'tude started much earlier. Hence, that post. I don't often 'take off my moderator hat' but sometimes, I just have to be a normal person. I said nothing nasty or sarcastic. I merely said that I don't care...and I can do that. I was polite, I was civil. No 'tude at all.
 
The shut up posts started right after the hat was tossed when addressing the same poster, but as you have shown it to be ok .......yeah....whatever .......

You know...if you have an issue with my moderating, please feel free to let the board administration know. They are always open to hearing from our members.
With that being said...I never 'tossed' a hat. I merely removed it. I am getting a wee bit tired of some thinking they are the only ones who are correct here...and who take every single post and rip it apart in the attempt to make others look stupid or less knowledgable. This is a discussion board...everyone is free to voice their thoughts, and positions on any subject dealing with transportation. No, not everyone has to agree, but no one has the right to continually come back at people, which in turn, makes posters hesitant about posting here.
We have some of the best members on the DIS on this board. They are well behaved, well spoken and seldom argumentative. They have great knowledge to hand out..and love doing so.
I refuse to allow any other posters to make anyone on this board feel less than valued. Everyone gets to be heard...equally...without fear of having every little word, or nuance, picked apart by someone else. It defeats the purpose of the board.

So, with that thought in mind, we are done now. This thread has gone south and no longer serves any purpose. Thanks to those that were polite and well intentioned.
