Magical DISney Weekend
31st January 2009 - 2nd February 2009
Pre Trip
Day One - 31st January 2009
Beep...beep...beep My goodness it was 6:30 already? Luckily we have done all of the packing last night so it was just a case of dragging ourselves out of bed and packing the car up ready for our 7:30 leaving time. At 7:20 I suddenly discovered I had run out of hair gell so after a frantic dash to Tesco we were finally on the move by 7:40. The journey to Ashford was rather straight forward however upon pulling into the Station we discovered that both of us had thought the other one had put shoes on Kacee and infact neither of us had done, so after another dash to a supermarket and a £5 pair of trainers later we were finally in Ashford International Train Station. Check in ran smoothly other than Kacee crying uncontrollably over having to put Blankie and Mickey through the X-Ray machine.
Onto the Eurostar safely and I set Kacee up with the portable DVD player we had borrowed from my friend Fat Dave.
After a 50 minute wait outside of the tunnel (someone had pulled an alarm apparently) we finally made our way through and arrived at DLRP shortly after 14:00. The whole journey on the train took 4 hours which I was rather disappointed with considering I can drive it in 3!
Upon leaving the Train Station we struck gold and there was a bus for the Kyriad sat there waiting for us, within 10 minutes we were pulling into the Kyriad car-park where I have shoved, half helped Ellie off the bus and first into line for check-in. This was smooth and very quick and after having to pursuade the lady behind check in that we really did want the 7AM breakfast we were given the key to our room which was rather nice.
It also had free wi-fi access to after a quick check in on the DISboards it was off the the park.
We wandered down Main Street and after a quick trip to the Emporium to pick up some bits for Stubbarama's daughter we passed the gorgeous castle and onto IASW, Kacee's favorate ride. After IASW we headed over to Buzz and picked up some fastpasses for later as the queue was showing as 50 minutes
.
The park was very busy so we decided to head over to the Studio's which ws much quieter. We managed to do Amimagique and Cars
before catching Donald at his meet and Greet
.
The pregnant wife declared that she was hungry and after consulting the bump decided that bump wanted a Big Mac so off to McDonalds we waddled and then it was back to the Disneyland Park.
It was much quieter now being 5:30 and there was just enough time for IASW
before going round to use our Buzz fastpasses. After a personal best of 450,000 we left Buzz and went to Pirate's via the Madhatters Teacups. DW decided against Pirates today (and for the whole trip) so Kacee and I went on Pirates alone (I was slightly dissapointed with the fact that despite the large refurb in January the swinging Pirate was still not working) where we were allowed to ride twice without having to get off, we were offered the chance of a third ride but decided against it as Ellie was waiting in the Chalet de Marionette cafe. After collecting the wife we headed to Frontierland to pick up the train for a ride around the park before heading back to the Hotel room.
All bathed and full of snacks that we had packed for the Eurostar but not eaten we all collapsed into the same bed around 10pm witht the alarm set for 6:30.
Tomorrow...can we make it for 8am park opening?...will we see Stitch Live!?...will we have the courage to pin trade?...all will be revealed.
