The big lump appeared in my throat last Thursday evening as we left the Magic Kingdom for the last time (what could actually be the last time).

Back early hours of Saturday morning after a 7h 9min flight to Gatwick.

Had a truly magical time, the kids are older now, so it is different but still a fantastic holiday and on more than one occasion I sat watching the kids as they watched a show or parade with my eyes filling up.

Just to say to anyone going in the next few days hope you all have a fabulous time (how can you not eh!). Safe trip

Steve

Glad you had a good time. How old are your kids now? We have been taking dd since she was 14 months, she will be 14 when we go in October so our holidays have changed a bit over the years :)

Glad you had a wonderful trip! I am so glad DBF and his family invited me to go with them last year and this year and introduced me to the best place I've ever been to.

We are now planning a trip for just the two of us next year, and hopefully there will be many more to come.

One day I might be lucky enough to see my own children walking down Main Street :)

It is a wonderful place to visit, but its a bit like Christmas I guess. As the kids get older, they still love it but for different reasons.

The glint in their eye when we ate at The Castle in 2002 when the girls were 5 and 2 was amazing. They were totally captivated by the whole thing.

They still love going now, but for the rides and the shows, not necessarily because of the 'magic'

I hope this makes sense, we had a fantastic time, but it is a different fantastic time.

Beth is 16, Ellie is 14 and Josh is 9, so Beth starts college in a few weeks and within the next couple of years will no doubt want the hols with her friends to Spain. ;-(

Im 28 and still visit frequently with my parents! Bet they wished they had never taken me LOL!

Now they get to see their Grandchildren walk down main street. :)

I blubbed all the way back across on the ferryboat leaving the MK on the last day of our last visit
then my daughter burst into tears as our plane took off from MCO

OMG! I went cold when I read this, and then welled up myself and I don't even know you.

You will have to go back without your kids and remember all the wonderful times you've spent there with them.

Me too! LOL!

Last time were there was 9 years ago on our honeymoon and as we left on the ferry boat watching the MK get smaller and smaller I said to my DH 'next time we come we'll hopefully have a little family to bring' and here we are, less than 8 weeks away from my sons first trip!

OMG! I'm at work and sitting here welling up typing this.

My daughter is 21 and still comes with us when we go. she has been going since she was 6 and never gets bored of the place.

:thumbsup2

We have a video from when we went in 02. We were outside the castle waiting for the parade and there was a bit of an Easter parade first as it was errrr ...... Easter!

Then the first float came round with Cinderella in and the CMs took Beth who was 5 by the hand and lead her to Cinderella, but after a few steps she came back for Ellie who was only 2 and they held hands and went up to Cinderella and waved and danced with the mice before wandering back.

Beth had a pink princess wizard like hat with ears and Ellie a flat pink one with Daisy Duck on it.

I was shaking like crazy when I filmed it and you know when you suddenly cant see because the suntan cream and sweat runs into your eyes, it was one of 'those' moments in my life.

I havnt watched it for a good 5 or 6 years and I have to watch it alone.

We went to see the DVC this year (we might, still not sure) and he asked each of us about our fondest memories at Disney and they all answered and when it got to him asking me, I couldn't tell him about this one so I said 'Just everything here creates memories'

We need to give it a few weeks before we decide. At the moment it is too fresh in the mind, I find you really want to go back when it has been a few months and then the ads appear on TV.

My daughter is 24 - I can't imagine ever going on a States holiday without her! I wonder what it would be like to be without her but I know that we would still have a wonderful time, just a bit slower! It's not about rides now, but we are back to 'the magic' - the atmosphere, the technology, the music. I don't think we will ever lose the wonder, but we do now try to tie it in with other places - last year we went to Sanibel/Captiva and in December we will end up in NYC.

Me too, although they're probably glad they took me as a child as now I'm taking them! :)
