Magical Beginnings..When are they and how do I find it?

They are Sunday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8-9am. We were there this past week and went in Friday morning. I HIGHLY recmmend being htere at 8:00am! We got there, and there were a ton of characters-very few people. Some of the characters pciekd some kids to go on rides with. We saw that CHip and Dale were climbing on the Carousel, so we got on and sat next to them! As they were getting off, each of them grabbed on my my children's hands and led them over to the area between It's a Small WOrld and Peter Pan where Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Wendy were kicking a ball with some kids. (No autographs are allowed during this hour-it is strictly playtime!). THey played follow the leader for quite a while, and then Wendy choose two more girls to go on Peter Pan with her (She had done this right at 8 also). One of them was my daughter, and she was ecstatic!! When they got off, Captain Hook was walking up, and Wendy grabbed my daughter and hid behind the garbage can. This led into a big game of Hide and Seek with even Hook taking a turn at counting! Stitch was riding Dumb over and over. Snow White and Dopey were by her ride and choose children to ride with them. Alice and the Mad Hatter and Piglet were out but then disappeared- I assume they went over to their rides. We weren't on that side of Fantasyland. Mickey, Goofy, and Pluto came out later and were playing with kids near the carousel. This was a truly magical morning for my children- especailly my daughter!
How have we missed this all these years?! We never knew about this and now I think my kids are abit too old too do it.It sounds cool :thumbsup2

They also have a Character Meal at Hollywood and Vine in MGM. It is JoJo, Goliath and 2 of the little Einstiens. The Characters are there for Breakfast and Lunch. You might enjoy that also if it works into your budget.

Otherwise they have a Trailer set up in MGM where they come out to sign autographs and take pictures.

:wizard: Have a great trip!!! :wizard:

Joanna- I haven't forgotten about he pictures! My husband just hasn't had a chance to reduce them yet so they are small enough to post.

I am having him do all of the Magical Beginning pictures that way everyone can see what a blast we had!

Oh don't worry about it. In fact, I just did the Magical Beginnings EMH today and it was so much fun. I don't think I have ever ridden the carousel as much as I did today. In fact, I got a picture of the chipmunks riding on the carousel, and it is so cute! :goodvibes

Whew. I thought I had actually missed something every trip!

Nope. They just started this in conjunction with the Magical Beginnings they are doing at the MK and MGM.

OK...you guys have sold me. We will re-arrange our schedule so that we can make sure to have our two little grandsons at the magical beginnings during our trip. Now I can't wait. I really hope they are chosen to ride on one of the rides with a character. That would be so special. Thanks for all of the great info!

Do they have a special one for folks who sleep 'till 10:00AM?

No. The EMHs are done before the regular park openings.

I was kidding. Part of Disney's magic for us is the kids (mainly the 3 yo) being so wore out by 10:00 or 11:00PM that he actually sleeps through the night and my wife can sleep in. Of course with the 8 mos. old, that might not matter.

We may indeed get up early one of those mornings and head over there. It sounds like the 3 yo would love it. Last September we were there and this is the closest he got to meeting the characters... (other than Mickey)

Maybe a dumb question?

But isn't there an age limit on these? For the kids, I mean.

We have a 2yr. old BUT we also have a 6 & 9 yr. old would they be allowed to enter and participate or is this strictly for families with ALL kids under that certain age (for the life of me I can't remember the magic number)

I've never heard of this! Can someone please fill me in to the details. Do you have to pay extra? Can anyone staying on property attend? Is this for limited time? I was in WDW in July at the Poly and never heard about this. I have a 2 and 3 year old that love the characters. they would get such a kick out of it. We will be back in Dec at The WL and was wondering if this will be available then. Any info would be appreciated.

We'll be there on the 24th and 27th! Had ADRs at CP at 8am on 9/27, but we're canceling so my triplets can have fun with all the characters! I'll have to make sure to have lots of batteries for the camera and camcorder.

I thought it was "geared" towards kids 6 and under, but I can't imagine Disney not letting your 9yr old in to play too!

I know there's one on Sunday, 9/17, because I'm planning on being there. I think they're every Sunday, Wednesday, and one other day, maybe Friday?

Do you know how long they will offer this? We will be there in Jan. and my DD's birthday is on the Sun. we are there so this would be an awesome way to start our trip!!!

I had ressies for breakfast on wed but we are skipping them after reading about all of the fun.

How do they keep other people out? I mean, my children are all grown up, but if we were at the park early, how would they block us out?

I'm not able to attend, I wouldn't horn in on the little ones fun (although I bet there are some priceless pictures to be taken), but I'm just curious. Frankly, if I WAS able to be there during this time, I'd love to attend just to watch the goings on . . .

It ends 9/30/06. Maybe they'll add it permanently if they get good feedback!
