I've posted something like this on other threads but haven't gotten an answer. How do you take advantage of MB? I heard about them here on the boards; took a cruise where they talked about sales incentives (that were only good for the cruise). After really going over the literature, and tons of reading on these boards, I called today to buy at HH with the $13 MB only to be told by the CM/rep that that was only a cruise offer, and that as of today, there was no MB anywhere; that she would call me on Sunday when the new incentives came out. This doesn't ring true--especially when I see others posting on this board that they got MB today at Vero. Help!! I really wanted to buy.

They exist at VB and HH until this Sunday . I just did an 60 pt add-on at VB today for $62 pt. I also sent you an e-mail. Let me know if you need any other info. We also got our same use yr (sept):D

We just added onto HH to take advantage of the MB before they end on Sunday. Our guide said MB may go down to 10 per point or even 5 but he said he would not know for sure until Sunday.

The scary part was how easy it was to add the points. It took less than 5 minutes and my debit card and we were on our way.

We did use the MB and were able to get our Oct. use month.

Now we can wait that 6-8 months for the HH sell-out;)

sorry-this is probably dumb, but what is a magical beginning?

AN UPDATE: after talking to a rep/guide from HH (thanks ncligs) I was able to buy 155 points at HH using the MB today. The confusion arose as to whether I had had a one-on-one with a guide on cruise. If I had had a one-on-one, I could not have bought with the $13. But, since I had just done a group presentation and a quick run through, they let me have them. I am so excited!!

Wahoo: Magical Beginnings is a sales incentive from Disney for HH, Vero and VWL where Disney buys back some or all of your points at $13 per point at VB and HH, $10 at VWL. So, my points for 2001 use year can't be used. But on 9/02 I get 155 points ready to "go Home"

I am so Confused

Does this really make sense?

Why is it that Disney Doesn't let people change their mind????

We looked into the DVC Thanksgiving of 98. It was only $50/pt, and with a MB incentive. The total for 150/pts was just over $7500 or so, we said no (unbeleivable, I know) Then in April I called back and said we had thought about it and were still interested. They told us the price went up, way up, there was a higher finance rate, and Now we didn't qualify for a MB incentive.

It has never made sense to me and NEVER will.

Totally Confused Disney Fan.

Tinkrbell: I have a tendency to agree with you in that it does not make sense to discourage people from changing their minds. I am a cautious investor--I like to check things out carefully & I will never buy if "YOU must do it now or you lose it" is the method. I understand why other timeshares do this, but not disney--they appear to have an excellent product, so why penalize people for being careful? Had they not been willing to "bend" a little bit, I would have made an offer on a resale--which at 59 a point & closing costs would have been just about the same as buying through Disney.

Tnkrbell, I wouldn't worry about it. MB is NOT what it's cracked up to be. Sure, you are selling points back to Disney(which they'll GLADLY use to rent a villa out at a higher rate) for a $10/point decrease in your initial cost. However, you still pay fees prorated from your time of purchase and don't receive your points until the next Use Year.

You can do BETTER than MB by purchasing resale......and often receive Banked points in the process.

Good Luck,

How do you find out about magical beginings? I never heard of it? Do they do it often?
