Magic Your Way & Hopping

If i purchase a Magic Your Ticket without the Park Hopping Option - Can i use it for 2 separate parks on one day? I want to Park Hop on one day of my trip, but not all of the days. Is adding an extra day (and using it to jump parks) a viable option to purchasing the park hopper option for the entire lenght of stay?

Theoretically it should work, but has anyone tried it?

Won't work. Disney won't allow it. The ticket machine can tell you've already used one day's admission. Won't let you in.

It's not the finger scan that's the problem.

Its the TICKET that is not allowed as admission to two parks in one day w/o the Hopper Option.

It does not work. Spend the cash on the hopping option, you will be glad you did.
