Magic Was in Texas? When Did They Get Off?

I'm confused by the Texas thing.......

Were last weeks cruisers offered a choice of leaving at Galveston?
or Today (Tues)?

Where did the cruisers get off today????

I can only imagine 10 days onboard the Magic!!

I hate it for the FLA. folks, however........ We were on the Magic when Charley came thru.......I hear Pt Canaveral is STILL not open????!!!!!

Magic was in Port Canaveral today with the Wonder; Port Canaveral was closed due to shifted sands and navigation bouys, they didn't have an estimate on when it would be open.

There were people on Magic last night, I think they were leaving this morning, and Wonder was going to CC with Disney crew for clean up, no passengers.

We docked in Texas Saturday morning to get fuel, water and food. We were there about 5 hours or so. People were giving the option to leave the cruise at that point if they wanted. Many living in California did as it was easier for them to fly home from Texas then to go back to Flordia. We were told about 600 people left the ship.

From what some of the cruisers who got off early said - they were able to be assured they could fly out of TX on Saturday and get home as scheduled. Many of them had children starting school today and needed to get home to school and work.

Others who had cars parked in Florida or who were on the East coast might have found it easier to stay on board and enjoy the extra days. They got off today in Ft. Lauderdale and were bussed up to Port Canaveral (or could fly out of there)

I'm sure each family did what was right for them.

That is exactly it WDWLVR. Texas did not work at all for me. We flew on Jet Blue who does not fly into/out of Texas. When we got to Florida today it was much easier for us to get a Jet Blue flight out of Ft. Lauderdale vs. going to Orlando.

People made their decision based on their needs.
