Hi! I was wondering if I can get some help in choosing between Magic staterooms 2510 or 7003. I understand that they are different categories. With that aside, I was wondering which would be a better choice.

Just a little background - we've only stayed in 9A category staterooms and usually on deck 7 or 8. My family of 4 (2A, 2C) seems to be okay with an inside room as long it's similar size as the oceanviews. I'm a bit concerned about the inside rooms since I seem to need to look out of the porthole when I feel motion sickness while I'm in the stateroom. And for some reason, I think I would feel claustrophobic if I don't see a window.

With that in mind, which stateroom would you suggest would be best for my family?

I would appreciate any suggestions or info. :-)

I can offer for 2510, due to the curvature of the ship those first several forward cabins have more room than the others. You might want to see if you can google room reviews and pictures (and there are several reviews listed on the DIS). Based on that, I'd pick 2510 for that reason but I don't have personal experience for those specific cabins. Far forward is pretty quiet as there isn't much foot traffic but I do tend to feel more motion forward, but nothing major.

Thanks for your post. I did google quite a bit about these two staterooms. I also read the DIS reviews. I am reading some reviews about stateroom 2510 having a noise issue with the thrusters arriving/leaving port. I have stayed on Deck 7 Forward in 9A staterooms and I have heard the thrusters. So I became worried that it would be far louder and more intense in the vibration if it's on Deck 2.

We love deck 2, easy on and off at ports just 1 flight of steps no elevator line. 2510 is just below the inside hallway between the Walt Disney Theater and O'Gills, we have been a few rooms back under O'Gills (Diversions) and had no issues with noise. You do hear the thrusters pulling into the dock in the morning but again we did not feel the vibration was all that bad and it only lasts a few minutes. When leaving port we were never in the room anyway so don't know if we would have cared. It is also nice to be 1 deck down from After Hours and 2 from Theater again for easy access. Both cabins are forward so there is not much difference in stability, lower just means a bit less movement. We enjoy having a porthole for the light and feeling of cruising however will not turn down an inside cabin if it means getting on a cruise we want. Some people leave the tv on the bow camera when traveling inside cabin, that just doesn't do much for me.

How many ports and how many minutes are thrusters actually activated ? Weigh that against your dislike for the vibration or noise and see if deck 7 inside is worth the trade off.

Thanks for your reply. It does sound like Deck 2 would be fine for us. I agree about the porthole, I think I do need it. The cost is similar between the two staterooms. I guess my issue is whether I need to be on Deck 7 or I would be fine with Deck 2. Seems silly I know.

I didn't mind the thrusters too much when we were on Deck 7 forward. It didn't seem too bad, but I would think that it would be far worse on Deck 2. I just don't know how to weigh the pros/cons if I have never felt the vibrations. Plus, the cruise is port intensive, so it would be happening almost every morning.

If someone has stayed on the upper decks forward and deck 2 forward and can compare the how loud or disturbing the thrusters are, it would be very helpful.

Well, we've been most everywhere on deck 2, between the Magic & Wonder. Didn't really have any issues with the thrusters, as usually they are only used during docking. By that time of the morning we were generally up and getting ready for the day. Yes, we could hear them, but it really doesn't last long.

Thanks for your reply. It sounds like it's not too bad. Whether or not your up and about in your stateroom, I'm sure that if it was very disturbing, you would have issues with it. And most of the reviews would mention it.

I guess I'm just assumed that if it's loud on Deck 7 or 8 forward, it would be far worse on Deck 2. While staying on Deck 7 Forward, we did notice it, but it wasn't too bad. If it's the same, we'd be okay with it.

Have you stayed on Deck 7 or 8 Forward and have felt the thrusters? Is it about the same on Deck 2? Just a comparison would be very helpful.

No, I haven't been on deck 7 or 8.

We have been on deck 6 and would have to say that we felt nothing. On deck 2 we could feel the vibration but to us it was nothing I gave much thought to. It did not rattle things to tip anything over if that is what you are thinking it will be, I would liken it to a construction hammer drill in a concrete wall below me, vibration not shaking. My DW and DD never felt it on our last cruise (8 ports), slept through it every time, I get up early and watch arrival or I would not have felt it either. If you are hyper sensitive to this type of thing that I would suggest finding mid ship, or if it bothered you when you were on deck 7 last time you have to expect more on deck 2.

It didn't bother me on Deck 7. I just noticed it when we were docking the last morning. If it was anything like that, I would be fine. I think this is what I should have asked on the thread since it was my concern. I think I'll start one with the proper question. Thanks again!

We stayed in room 2510 on the Magic this past February and have also been on deck 7 but not that specific room. You do get a little more vibration on deck 2 but nothing that we found bothersome. We enjoy deck 2 because it's quick and easy to get to things on decks 3 and 4. Easy to make a quick trip to the room before or after showtime/dinner when needed.

Thank you so much! I was just concerned that Deck 2 would be more noticeable. I didn't mind the vibration during docking on Deck 7 Oceanview rooms on the starboard side. I just wanted to make sure it was not much worse on Deck 2.

We love deck 2. Its probably our favorite deck to stay on. The vibrations happen all over the ship, nothing horrible.
