Would someone crusing on the Magic and eating at Palo ask Sasha for me if he is going to be on the ship for the first cruise out of LA? Several of us are going to tbe on that May 28th cruise and are curious if we will get to see him.

Thank you in advance.

Does anyone have a photo of the infamous Sasha? Our assistant server in 2001 was named Sasha (he was fabulous) and I was wondering if he was the same person.

Yep, we had Sasha too. I'm guessing he may not be there in May. He told us at Christmas time that he had a baby on the way, and was planning on heading home soon. He was a very good server, but he really bloomed after our main meal, when we just chatted for a while. We were one of the last tables there, and he had the time to talk. We saw him the next morning at topsiders, and later in the week at Scoops, so he gets around!

Lisa, he actually has twin girls on the way!!! :) They are due in March & he said that he would go home for his usual break then & return to The Magic for one more contract before leaving DCL. Not sure if he will make it back for the repositioning cruise since that will depend on when he leaves. He just lights up when he talks about his little girl & the two on the way.

Sasha really is amazing. My DH and I were supposed to dine at Palo with my in-laws. Unfortunately, my DS had the norwalk virus and was put in isolation. I stayed in the room with my DS while the other went to Palo. :sad2:

After about an hour there was a knock on my door. Sasha felt so badly for me that he brought me a FULL meal (we're talking salad, appetizer, tenderloin, and chocolate souffle) to my cabin. This was while he was still taking care of my DH & family AND other tables in Palo. I was blown away! I couldn't thank him (or tip him) enough.

I'll be sorry to see him go before our next cruise. :sad2:

THAT is amazing!!! Definitely above & beyond the call of duty. :)

Yes, folks that is in fact the Sasha I was referring to. I met to post a lint to a photo and forgot. Thank you CruisingCA2005.

He was a wonderful server. There was one night my cousin and I missed dinner because we stayed in port too long and he sent THE ENTIRE DESSERT MENU that night back to the cabin for us with my sister. And not one of each dessert but 2 of each. He wanted to be sure we didin't miss anything. We enjoyed him that cruise and he was between contracts when I cruised the last time. I had heard about him leaving after the twins were bron and was hoping we would see him one more time before he left for good.

Sasha was one of the crew that joined the ship in the shipyard in Italy and sailed it to PC and has been with them ever since.

Thanks everyone for your information.

I can't agree more! Sasha was our Palo server and he was just AMAZING!!! He said he was leaving after 6 weeks and then would possibly be back by May 2006. He is planning on going to school and possibly leaving the cruise industry - he is taking classes to become a CWP (certified wine professional)
Palo is amazing anyway, but Sasha added a whole other dimention to the experience!

I didn't realize he was now in Palo. He was our server in 2001 and at that time his wife had just had their daughter. When we returned a year later he remembered us --- actually pointed my DH out in a crowd of people. He is an amazing people person. He will go far in no matter what he chooses in life. Maybe the next person that thinks they will see him could print out this post for him to see. I'm sure he would appreciate it. We had kept in email contact with him for awhile but I don't think I still have his email addy. :sunny:
