Just wondered how busy Magic Mountain will be on a September Saturday when the park is closed on weekdays?

Also has anyone used the bus service to Santa Clarita - 757 from North Hollywood Red Line Metro station?

It will be busy. 45min to 2+ hr waits.

If possible, go to the park on a Sunday. Crowds are dramatically smaller. 10min to 1hr waits, if that.

757- Yes, I have ridden it a few times. It's by far the most comfortable city bus I have ever ridden. It's a Greyhound type of bus. Padded/reclining seats, reading light, personal air vent, and lots of leg room. For $5 round trip, it can't be beat.

Great thanks Ryan - Sunday would be possible - the park is only open until 6pm though on that day and until 8pm on Saturday so that's why we were thinking Saturday. so it's lesser crowds v. an extra 2 hours park time - also on the Monday we had planned Universal and wanted a quieter day Sunday for that reason (heading over to Disney Tuesday so Monday would be the only day for Universal as we definitely want to avoid the weekend with that one)

Based on your other posts, the reason the park has an 8pm closing is because of this:

Six Flags Magic Mountain caters to Christian music fans on Saturday, September 21, 2013 when the Park hosts Praise On the Mountain featuring the Voices of the City and Las Vegas CLC Choirs. For additional information, email

This is a group event, and the park is a zoo every year when they do this. Sunday has no scheduled group events, so this is by far the best day to go.

OHHHHH MY GOSH!!!!!! I am so glad that I popped over to check out this thread we are planning our first trip our first trip to SFMM and we planned sept 21 and 22 but now I am thinking about going to the water park on the 21 and SFMM on sunday the 22nd. Can you do SFMM in one day and is the water park a good time? We are from Oregon so our water parks are indoors.

I enjoy the water park, although I haven't been in a few years.

You can do MM in one day easily if it isn't crowded. If it is crowded, it would take forever to get through the park. That's completely what it would depend on. And there's really no way of knowing until you get there that day.

WE would go to the water park but it is closed unfortunately when we are there - we are just going to 'go for it' (the main park that is) on that Sunday (only day possible) and see how it goes - will of course report back afterwards .

Just got back home - we did go to Magic Mountain on the Sunday but wished we hadn't - lines were absolute minimum one hour - I only went on 2 rides - DD went on three - one ride 1 hour the other two nearly two hours each!!!!

Main problem was that the bus from North Hollywood was 15 minutes late which meant we missed the connection to the park and these aren't as frequent as you might imagine. As a result we only got to the park an hour after opening.

We really wished we had saved the day from our Go Los Angeles card for an extra day at Knotts Berry Farm - we went there in the week (it's still open every day) and it was so quiet - a walk on for every ride and a great atmosphere too.

I guess MM just wasn't our thing.
