Magic Morning vs Magic Hour?

I don't quite understand the difference. We are staying at the DLH and I know we can get into CA Adventure early on a few days (hoping Cars Land is open?).

How does this work on DL? Specifically, we will be using it on Tues, May 13th. What areas are open? Hoping to hit up all the Fantasyland rides with my toddler. Will it be a zoo? Are Magic Hour & Magic Morning the same thing for DL purposes?

Thanks!

Yes, Magic Morning comes on a 3 day+ Ticket but Early Magic Hour is just for onsite guests.

It will not be a Zoo that is pretty much for sure - only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are open for that hour.

But Fantasy Land is very busy during that extra hour. This was our experience a few weeks ago.

EMH is for all Disney Property hotel guests, schedule as follows:

DCA---Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Disneyland---Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

Magic Morning is tied to your admission ticket(3 or more days) schedule as follows:

Disneyland ONLY---Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday.

EMH and Magic Morning(MM) overlap only at Disneyland on Tues., Thurs., and Sat.

When EMH and MM begin at 9:00am, you can run into some pretty large crowds, because that is an easier/later time, for most to be up and going(and raring to get into the parks!)

Look for larger crowds in the esplanade and longer lines waiting to enter, and it will most likely be a Zoo in Fantasyland!

When EMH/MM begin at 7:00am, you will find shorter lines and much less crowding, simply because it is harder(usually) to get infants/younger children up and going for a 6:30am line up!;)

We love the 7:00am EMH/MM, and utilize it as often as we can.

We do not love the 9:00am EMH/MM, and in our opinion/experience, is pretty much a waste(especially during busier times of the season)!:)

Yikes, should I even bother then? On Tues, May 11th I was going to try to do DL at 9am, but maybe I should forget it? Are the lines worse than normal?

Is it worth it for California Adventure on Mondays?

So if you have MM AND EMH can you go in early on two different days?

My understanding is if you have EMH, you can get in early (on that parks day) every single day of your on-site hotel stay. And because of that, I don't think MM will work. Because don't you use your room key as your admission ticket? Or am I wrong? I've never stayed on-site so I wouldn't know.

A few weeks ago is likely not comparable to May 13th considering a few weeks ago was Spring Break season.

So if you have MM AND EMH can you go in early on two different days?

If you are staying on - site, then you can get in early every day you are staying on site. If you aren't then you can only utilize MM once if you have the appropriate ticket.

ETA: EMH doesn't depend on ticket type. Just depends on where you are staying.

So off site guests don't get into DCA on those early mornings? That's where we were going to use our morning but I guess we have to adjust.

If you have EMH(by staying on-site), you don't even need to utilize the MM on your multi-day ticket!

You will be able to get into whichever park is having EMH that day, by showing your admission ticket, and your room key!

It sounds complicated, but it's really easy!:)

You are correct(sorry)!

Off site guests do not get into DCA early, only Disney property hotel guests.

Correct. Off site guests only get into DL early on ONE morning (either Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday) with a 3-day (or more) ticket. EMM does not apply to DCA.

If you really want to utilize that extra hour, I absolutely would, BUT, you might have to get up and get going, to line up earlier than you would think!

I personally would try to line up around 45 minutes before opening. The reason for that is, you will get in more quickly, the closer you are to the front of the line.

The lines for 9:00am EMH/MM are simply larger than the 7:00am or 8:00am ones are.

We strolled over to DCA, thinking we could get in, about 30 minutes before EMH was over, and the lines were massive. We were not able to get in before EMH was over:sad2:.(This happened to us twice during the last week of this past February, on a weekday---lines were HUGE!)

If we had lined up earlier(like we did the other days, after we wised up;)), we would not have had that problem.

This was just our experience---I realize it might have been different for others.

Bottom line is(after a lot of rambling), you can have success with a 9:00am EMH/MM, IF you get there early(about 30 to 40 minutes) to line up(in my experience/opinion!):thumbsup2

Last week for our Sunday 8am EMH, we made it to the lines around 8:20. To our initial shock, there were long lines at the gates. However upon further inspection, we discovered that the lines were for regular entry. They had separate gates for EMH. Be aware if you don't make it to the beginning of EMH that there may be separate gates for EMH. There were no lines at that time. We were able to ride TSMM and CA Screaming before getting our RSR FP at Park opening.

"Yes"! Thank you 94bruin!!! This^^^^^^^ is good advice!

Make sure to look at the signs over the turnstiles---they will be labeled.

Also, you can leave one person in line, and send another up to the front to ask a CM for clarification, if you're not sure(we do this all the time!):thumbsup2

I had no clue, thanks so much!
