Magic missing 4 days in NYC

I was curious about this when looking at the transatlantic cruise, the map was Canada and NY but the couple of lines under the photo said head to Miami via castaway cay, I wondered if they really knew where they were going?!

I'm still guessing that this is going to be a DVC Member cruise, and their waiting to the second DVC Cruise this summer to announce it. It makes sense when you think of the number of DVC Members in the Northeast, and also lets them offer something a little different

They usually announce it during a Member Cruise the first one (Alaska) just ended. There is one more in August (CC Double Dip).

No announcement during the Alaska member cruise...but some hints about another new Itinerary for a Members cruise. Hoping it is a NY departure! This is our stateroom door, which was featured in the official DVC posting....could that be a clue, too? Who knows? Maybe they will announce by the August DVC cruise.

That would be awesome! I might have to pull my kids out of school for a DVC member cruise from New York. We've never done a DVC member cruise before, but this itinerary could be the ticket.

Hope all you DVC members do get a members' cruise out of NYC. It really is special sailing down the Hudson past the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Freedom Tower and the Verrazzano Narrows Bridge. We did a few of the Magic NYC cruises back in 2012 and loved them. The Magic was most recently in NYC on May 18th as a port stop on the May EBTA. It was fun coming into NYC as we live only about 20 minutes away from the port. Was able to offload some extra clothing that was not needed and pick up some adult beverages that a family member delivered!!

Here we are going under the bridge.....and by the SOL and Freedom TowerDSCN0779.JPG

I was on one of the 2012 Canada cruises out of New York as well and LOVED sailing out of the Manhattan terminal. That one was a girls cruise with a friend, and I would really like my husband and kids to experience sailing out of New York. Crossing my fingers...

I sure hope it is! I grew up in Bayonne and would love to see the Statue of Liberty from the deck of a DCL ship!

Love your door!

I'll be on the August MC....am hoping!

We have 2 of the NYC cruises scheduled. If they add a NYC DVC cruise, we'll look at it. It will be interesting to see where they price it. Our NYC-Canada cruise is already over $1k more than when we booked.

We are booked on the EBTA 2016 and were considering a B2B and wondering why the cruise after coming back wasn't available.

So, now with the new law of no more "cruises to nowhere" in 2016 does it change anybody's mind as to what those 4 days will be? Has anyone confirmed it is the TCM 2016 cruise or a private charter?

When some people left the DVC Member cruise in Alaska, one of the DVC CM said "see ya in Canada". I do think it will be a Member cruise.
When I asked at the DVC desk, they were funny tripping over all the different answers.

My guess would be that you can get to Halifax and back to NYC. It 518 nautical miles between the two. Is it possible?

They could take their time on this. Are we beyond the cancellation date for the Aug Member Cruise?
It shows on the DCL website as a Sept sail out of NYC but when you try to select it an error message appears stating the cruise is "sold out".

On the final morning of the MC to Alaska there was a tweet from Potrock hinting that a 2016 MC was in the works and it was to a destination they hadn't sailed to before. The chatter around the folks around us seemed to think that a NYC-Halifax cruise was a distinct possibility. Of course that's all speculation, but I suppose some of the puzzle pieces do fit together. :earsboy:
