Magic Kingdom to the Polynesian via boat transportation

I was wondering does the boat transportation from the Magic Kingdom to the Polynesian stop there 1st, or does it 1st stop at the Grand Floridian and then the Polynesian? If it 1st stops at the Polynesian is it faster then taking the Resort Monorail, or is the Monorail faster because it will come a lot quicker then the boat would, assuming the boat is not at the dock when leaving the Magic Kingdom?

I know that the boat stops at the GF and the Polynesian since we've used it many times. I just can't remember if the route is MK - GF - Polynesian or MK - Polynesian - GF.
Sorry!

From the Polynesian to the MK, I think the monorail is usually faster (unless you "stop for traffic"). Returning to the Polynesian from the MK, I think both the resort monorail and boat are about equal in terms of time. It depends on if you have to wait for the boat or monrail.

Another alternative is to take the ferry from the MK to the TTC. Could be very quick if you are staying on the eastern end of the resort.

Tikiman probably has all of these trips timed out on his web site.:)

The route is MK>GF>Polynesian>MK...

The boat to MK is quite fast once it docks. Monorail usually is too. You can't lose either way. And as Poly Pal said, the big ferry is convenient to the East side longhouses as well. If one is about to leave as you exit the MK, that will be fastest of all IMO. It does tend to be crowded in the am on the way to the MK.

But since you'll be in Hawaii, it is easy to watch for the boat. You can see it as it leaves the GF on its way to the Polynesian and walk on down to the dock. Most often three are operating but they don't start as early as the resort monorail.

If you're having breakfast at Kona or 'Ohana, stroll on to the monorail when you're finished. Transportation at the Polynesian is wonderful.

We stayed at Poly with a toddler in the Tahiti building. We had it down to a science that if you saw the big ferryboat leave MK for TTC, there was enough time to leave the room, taking the elevator with a stroller, walk leisurely to TTC along the pathway, and board the ferry to MK. That was a great feature of that end of Poly, especially with little ones. The launch was not as fast from our end of Poly.
IMHO a cool breeze on a boat is a great way to leave the MK. Of course I love the monorail too...

Since we will have the complimentary breakfast in the lounge of the Hawaii building, I doubt we would go to Kona or Ohana for breakfast.

We always have breakfast at Kona at least once per trip whether we're in Hawaii (as we will be next trip:cool1: ) or not. Even if our vacation doesn't include a Polynesian stay as has happened several times recently, we make it over to Kona for breakfast. An absolute must do for us.

randbmom, the ferry is very convenient with strollers isn't it? Even the really large ones can roll right on.

I'm sure there are people that will head over to Kona or 'Ohana even though they have concierge service. So, for those folks, this info will be helpful, I'm sure. Especially if they are not very familier with the set-up at the Polynesian.

the big ferry from ttc is convenient for strollers. the launch from the poly is smaller and not as convenient.

Right. Randbmom used the ferry.

The same transportation advice would apply if you had lunch at Kona or dinner at Kona or Ohana and wanted to go to the MK after your meal.
