Magic Kingdom Steam Trains Tour - is it worth it?

I will be in WDW in late Sept with my girlfriend and my parents. I was thinking about doing the Steam Train Tour one morning with my Dad while Mom and my GF sleep in a little bit. I just called Disney and it looks like the cost is $40 and starts at 7:30 AM and runs for 3 hours. Has anyone done the tour recently? Is it work $40 a piece for the tour? My Dad does love trains so my guess is he would like it a lot and it is definitely something that he has never done in WDW in 30 yrs of trips there. Thanks!

My dh did the tour a couple of years ago (not all that recent, sorry!) but he loved it!! He's a train nut and it was the ultimate thing to do at WDW in his opinion. He still talks about it ... it was a neat behind-the-scenes experience for him.

YES, YES, YES!
We did this tour last Oct and really loved it. It was quite interesting all the information they give you about their train system and where the trains came from. They take you to the train barn and you get to see where they go each night.

Plus you get to see them start up a train and actually get up in the driver's seat.

We really enjoyed it.

Would I say that it is definately worth the money? YES YES YES

I posted a new thread about this a week or so ago. EVERYONE said it was well worth it!!! Do a search for it and you can find the other threads. It's totally a 'dad' thing! My DH can't wait!!

Thanks for the info on the tour - just booked it and so far the day I booked it for only had 4 other people signed up! The tour is only 4 weeks away, so maybe it will not fill up...

What date did you sign him up for it? My DH is going Saturday, 10/1.
