Magic Kingdom Railroad Train

I hope not. :scratchin

(Looks like it may tunnel under it in some fashion.)

HERE is the Tron announcement.

Below is an enlarged detail of the illustration of the new area where the WDW Railroad passes under (in some way) Tron.

Looks like they will have to close the railroad while they are constructing Tron. :( :(

How many trains run at once? If it's only one,
I wonder if it could run back and forth , instead of round and round and just not go to that section.

A different railroad question if I may. I’m thinking there is no way to get an ECV on the train. Am I correct? Thanks!

For safety reasons, I don't believe that they operate the train in reverse mode for more than a few feet when there are passengers on board.

I don't think so. Look at the pictures on blogdisney.

The Red marker line is the train track.

also if you look here, the track and pathway are already finished.

They just have to add crossing gates.

Seems kind of odd to me that their plan is to have an at grade crossing. I think we are missing something here.

If the overhead is more accurate to final build than the artist rendering that I posted, I like that so much better.
But, that leaves us with the "duel of the pre-drawings," doesn't it.

I also think that they would NOT build a final path to/from Tron that would actually cross the railroad tracks.

It would be a simple matter to use an elevated ramp (at the very least) to allow guests to cross the tracks
without worry of a train/pedestrian mishap.

They are currently using this route shown in the Post above for Space Mountain Guests to exit insetad of the Speed Ramp.

There is a CM there,of course, holding Guests when the Train comes.

The overhead is not a pre-drawing. It's an overlay of the filed permit on top of the already cleared land. I.E. they took construction overhead shots from a plane recently and overlayed the permit on top of it.

it should be significantly more accurate than the artist rendition.

So my husband uses an ECV, and Main Street is too many stairs for him. Is there a place he can easily board the train? The last couple visits we did not ride as Main Street and Splash Mountain area are not good for him.

There are ramps (for ECVs, etc) at all railroad stations.

Fantasyland doesn't have any stairs.

I wouldn’t do it first thing. Do it when you need a rest. It was so nice to just relax a bit.
Sometimes if you try to get on later in the day, the crowds waiting to get on especially at the other 2 stops besides the Main St. one make it near impossible. we always do it first thing .

And the train doesn’t run during the parade. We once boarded the train at Fantasyland then sat for 40 minutes before we could go.

Maybe it’s because I always go in August, and always leave it for the afternoon (and there is always the inevitable thunderstorm), but I don’t think I’ve ever been able to ride the train - it’s always been closed for inclement weather

:(
