Just booked a Magic Kingdom photoshoot and wondered if it would be unreasonable to hope for a shot like the one below...

(I realize that our shoot will be early and the sky will most likely be dark, but I love this shot!) Are my sights set too high for something like this? Should I lower my expectations? Thoughts?

This was a real bride's MK shoot..so I'm sure you can request the shot from your photographer and as long as there aren't maintenance workers there, it shouldn't be a problem.

lower those expectations girly! :lmao:

seriously though, alot depends on time of day, time of year... i mean, i guess they are all morning (duh) but lighting is wildly different from completely dark to complete daylight.

our money shot looks like this:

and there were peoples everywhere! and garbage collection going on!!! it was lots of fun! enjoy!:goodvibes

and some absolutely FANTASTIC others, but sadly it seems to be hit or miss. The photo you love seems to be a new "typical" shot - so you could likely get it! I went in with very low expectations and was thrilled. It's kind of something you just have to let go of and hope for the best, which is NOT easy to do when you're throwing $1100 at them for it. Good luck! :goodvibes

Neener, out of curiosity who was your photographer?

I agree, go in with lower expectations and hope they wow the socks off of you! LOL

it depends on the time of the year. in the winter, the sun comes up later... in the summer, the sun comes up earlier.

Neener, those are AMAZING! Yes, who was your photographer? Also, what time of year was this, and how early was this shoot?

I think mine starts with them picking us up at 6am, does that sound right? (I don't have my notes in front of me with the details...)

Our wedding is next May, I hope we can get SOME daylight into the early morning shoot...!

Thanks everyone! We're so happy with our results. My husband said it was the best experience EVER.

Eveshepherd, We had Regina for our photographer. She was incredible. I requested her, but of course it's not a guarantee...blech. I know Ty also does that shot in front of the castle, I don't love the rest of his work though, it's just not my style. I have a lot of other pics in my pj if you want to check them out.

Our time was the 7:30 slot, but in February, so if you're in May at 6 you should get some daylight. Good luck!

Oh, and the shot with the partners originally had some people in the background, so I sent off and email saying that when my time was switched (from 6 to 7:30) I had expressed concern about people being in the background of our pictures, and had been assured they would be photoshopped out. I think they did a terrific job. We only had two partner shots with a few people in the background.

Not to (re)open a can of worms, but curious if they charged you for the photoshopping? I ask because we dealt with the time change issue as well and had people in the shot as well as a light post bulb emerging from my hubby's forehead. They did remove the "tumor" gratis, but I was unwilling to pay more to have them photoshop out the many guests in the background.

They didn't charge us anything...but I was very careful with my wording in the email lol. Literally "We are absolutely thrilled with our MK shoot pictures, and think that Regina did a fantastic job. However, when I was called close to the wedding about our time for the shoot changing, I expressed concern and displeasure about other park guests being in the park at the same time as us and being in our pictures. I was assured that every effort would be made to keep guests out of the pictures, but if an oversight was made, they would be photoshopped out. In our two partner pictures you can see guests clustered in the background towards the castle in the 4x6 prints, and thus will be very obvious when I get prints in a larger size. I would appreciate that being taken care of for us."

I don't think I gave them much option there. They emailed back asking for specific picture numbers, which I gave, and then it was done when we got our disk.

I am so envious. Literally green with envy. I have seen some beautiful shots, but those are stunning. Not a single one of my castle shots was in focus and seeing how beautiful they could have been breaks my heart.

Wow, your photos are just beautiful. They literally break my heart that our shoot got cancelled :sad2: This is everything I would have hoped for. They offered us a shoot the week before the wedding but I wouldn't get to wear my dress and seeing these photos makes me realise I can't settle for second best. Congratulations on your beautiful wedding and photos! :goodvibes

I hear ya, Ember!

I will say that asking to exactly re-create a specific shot you've seen can be tricky. We picked our MK photographer based on one shot of his we'd seen that we wanted to replicate, and our shoot was a disaster. Even that "signature" shot that was the whole reason for picking him didn't work.

That said, if you like the rest of a photographer's work (or at least what you've been able to see, since the DPS site only shows selects for each photographer) you have a better chance of being happy with the entire shoot. Even if that one shot you really wanted doesn't work out, it might be that s/he comes up with new and different shots that you like better.

I would be so disappointed if one of our castle shots wasn't in focus. :guilty: Who was your photographer?

wow, I wish I knew to request that photo!

If you really aren't able to get that exact shot for whatever reason beyond your control .......

PHOTOSHOP YOURSELF IN :thumbsup2

I know its nowhere near as being as good as the real thing, but sometimes magic just doesnt happen no matter how much you try!:confused3
