Which park do you like better? Why?

Thank you.

DL. Maybe because it's my home park. I thought everything at MK was too big, including the castle.

I like Disneyland better. It was the only one I went to for years. But Dl is Walt Disney's original and we are walt fans. Also, althought MK may be bigger, IMHO dl flows better and seems like there is more open areas. MK seemed to has more smaller walk ways then DL. But it is hard to beat taking the boat from the hotel to eat at Tony's in MK - especially when you made PS right before you left your room :cheer2: !

Well I've been to MK and not Disneyland, so I can't compare the two, but I was wondering is MK larger than DL? A friend of mine here at work said DL is tiny? I'm not sure what he meant by tiny, or in comparison to what? Is it smaller than MK or just about the same size?

From pictures I am seeing on the internet and WDW Info, DL does look more intricate, it seems to have a greater level of detail. I am also reading that most of the rides at DL also have a greater level of detail. I love WDW, but I think DL is going to rank right up there too!

 I can't wait to see Walt's park!

I like Disneyland more than the Magic Kingdom. The 'magic' is more palpable at DL and as previously stated, Walt was there and supervised it so it is better!

Disneyland is definitely the better of the two. It's the only park that Walt built.

It's got the Indiana Jones Adventure, the Haunted Mansion is in much better shape (and got some enhancements last year and new ones this year), Mickey's ToonTown is more fun than Mickey's ToonTown Fair, there's Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Alice in Wonderland, and Storybookland Canal Boats, the Columbia sails the Rivers of America, POTC is twice as long, and the Matterhorn Bobsleds is a classic.

I prefer Disneyland to MK but if you compare the resorts I prefer the whole package in Florida so much better. I love epcot, MGM, Animal Kingdom and all that is so much better than the two parks in California.

I have been to MK and Disneyland and also Disneyland Paris and out of the 3, I prefer DL. DLP and DL are very similar in many ways though we've not been to Paris since we started going to DL.
Love Ella

I agree totally! Although I enjoy DCA better than MGM, which is my least favorite Disney park (although thats relative because I love all things Disney!). I do love the fact that MK has Mickey's Philharmagic, TTA and Carousel of Progress however. If Disneyland has those three attractions, it would make it even better! What makes Disneyland my winner in this contest are: the charm of Disneyland, the "Walt factor", Fantasyland, POTC, Indiana Jones and now Remember plus the perfect So. Cal climate all make it so incredible for me and a notch above MK by itself.

DL definately! POC and Small World are both way better at DL. We also like that it is smaller (more compact with just as many attractions) and therefore requires less walking to get from one place to another.

I really like both the California and Florida resorts. WDW is amazing and you can lose yourself for a week no problem. The only park we were not thrilled with at WDW was Magic Kingdom and I think that is because it is similar to DL but seems to us to be missing something....

I think DL is better than the MK. What makes WDW so popular is EPCOT, MGM, and AK. DL does have a very special charm to it that comes in large part from being the original. The smaller size makes it feel cozy.

I really thought that bigger would be better when we went to the Magic Kingdom last fall after years of going to Disneyland. I was sooo wrong. I did not feel the Magic at the Magic Kingdom. I enjoyed WDW as a whole but was disappointed in the Magic Kingdom.

I agree that I like DL more than MK too...I even like the DLR better than the whole WDW resort. I actually like and prefer that everything is in 2 parks instead of 4, plus the atmosphere is just different (better) to me, and I cannot explain why?? :confused3 I have been also been to Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland resorts, and still love the Disneyland in California the best. In fact, going to those other places made me miss being at DL even more!

I've been to DL for the past 2 summers, and am going back this year. I've been to WDW numerous times, especially the Magic Kingdom. People think I'm strange when I say this, because they are both Disney parks, but I think DL and MK are two completely different experiences. There are so many things that I love about MK (Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Carousel of Progress, Hall of Presidents, Wishes), but there are different things that I've fallen in love with at DL (love the Railroad, Mr. Toad, Indiana Jones, Pirates (long version), and just the fact that it's Walt's park)! I agree that the whole package of WDW is wonderful, with all the parks, resorts, and restaurants. But I also love being able to walk out of Disneyland, and stroll about 300 yards into DCA or Downtown Disney.

To me, it's like apples and oranges. And I love them both!

Hi, there, folks. I just came back from my first ever trip to Disneyland. I've been to MK at the "world" more times than I can count. But, I've got to tell you that I fell in love with Disneyland! It's all the little touches in the park. The Magic store is still on Main Street, and the Penny Arcade. Main Street has more to offer. In the alcove you can hear a man taking a shower and brushing his teeth in the upstairs window of a hotel. You can hear someone having piano lessons. At the Market store, you can sit at a pot-bellied stove and drink cocoa and play checkers. The old-fashioned telephones have "party lines' that you can listen in on. too cute. There are more rides packed into this place than MK. Mr Toad is still here; The Evil Queen peeks out a window behind the castle. Eerie! Tinkerbelle flies around the castle several times during the fireworks show. Disneyworld may be bigger, but they sure aren't doing much with the space! To a newcomer like me, it seems that Walt's personality just oozes from every part of this place. And, yes, I loved the Enchanted Tiki Hut--because it was Walt's idea. I can't wait to go back.

Oh, and may I add one more thing? On my way out of the park, at 11 p.m. Tuesday night, who did I run into? Mickey!!!! He was skipping about in the town square! That's one thing I noticed right away about the characters. They are free to roam about without their "keepers". Of course, there were 3 cast members walking just behind Mickey, and I saw the CM's with characters, but you didn't get the feeling that they were "protecting" the public from the characters--not the same feeling you get at Florida. It used to be that way years ago in Florida, but not anymore. Oh, if any Disney Execs are paying attention, please, please, please leave Disneyland alone. Don't change it. It ain't broke--so don't fix it. I'll be back and I when I come back I'm dragging all my friends with me! From the minute I walked in under the railroad train, I became a child again, a very, very happy child. Thank you, Mr. Disney.

Disneyland! Don't get me wrong--I LOVE WDW--see signature. But, Disneyland is just SOO magical and special.
*Fantasyland is awesome--with Alice, the Canal boats, Mr. Toad, Casey's train, plus of course Peter Pan, small world, etc.
*Space Mountain is fantastic!
*Cool free cars given out at Autopia. My kids were very impressed.
*When we were in DL in December, the weather was perfect (I know--not a fair comparison--but we're so used to sweating in WDW--always go during the heat. When we went to WDW in December several years ago we were freezing!)
*The holiday decorations were beautiful.
*Wishes fireworks show made me cry, plus the snow on Main Street was so cool.
*The people were friendly, the CMs were very polite and accommodating. *Everything is compact, within easy walking distance.
*And I know it's hokey, but Disneyland is Walt's park. You really can feel his presence when you're there.
I agree with previous poster--please Disney, don't change a thing about Disneyland. It's perfect. :sunny:

I agree with the above comment. Disneyland has more to offer than the MK but the whole experience at WDW is much better. Not only the 4 main parks but also the water parks are way cool. I have not been to Disneyland in about 6 years but are going back in Oct of this year. Looking forward to any DISNEY trip.
