We will be at WDW May11-15 with our 4 kids ages 9 and under. We have been 4 times since 2014 so familiar with everything. Just curious what crowds are like at MK on Mother's Day? Any different than other days? Most of the crowd calendars have MK as the best park for that day.

Also...I will be 19 weeks pregnant and if all goes well we might do a gender reveal for us and the kids on that day. So any ideas for that would be welcome!

MK can be pretty busy on Mother's Day. It's not unmanageable, but it does seem to be a draw. Later in the day it might seem pretty crowded. If you have a good plan it shouldn't be too concerning.

One nice thing is in the past they have given a fresh flower to all mothers entering the park, so they'll probably do that.

Thank you just what I needed to know! And the flower is such a nice gesture.

I've been there the past 2 Mother's Days-I thought it was fine, but I didn't have any littles in tow with me either. Last year we ate brunch at California Grill and then got there about 30 minutes before FoF and sat in front of the train station to watch. We did our 3 FPs and were done for the day, I don't remember it being slammed with people though.

We've been on Mother's Day twice. Last time, when my DD was 10 and DS was 7, they tried to steal my flower and never did wish me a Happy Mother's Day.

I think MK was a little too distracting for them. LOL!

There wasn't a significant shift in crowds or anything. It's a Sunday so it will definitely be crowded but we didn't see anything outside of the normal weekend range.

We did California Grill brunch last year and then over to MK... it was relatively quiet since it is the beginning half of May. We were too late for the flower (sorry mom), but I do remember CMs wishing her a happy mother's day and that makes me smile :)

That's great, thanks!

I have been in MK twice on Mother's Day and it was very manageable. Both times we were in the park early though and got our must do's done and then we are very good at just relaxing and seeing how the day plays out after that! My kids loved that the CMs gave them flowers to give to me!

I’ll be arriving from universal on mother’s day! Treating my mom to this trip. We aren’t going to do a park that day just going to relax!

We've been on Mother's Day and it was a very enjoyable day. They gave Mom's flowers at the entrance. Plan your FP+ and maybe hop to another park later in the day if you have a hopper.

No hopper this trip but we will play Pirates Adventure in the afternoon and see what kind of 4th+ fastpasses we can get. I'm excited and hoping maybe they extend closing.

You'll be fine. We had a great day there on Mother's Day last year. We did everything we wanted to do. I do remember it getting busy in the afternoon, so maybe plan your pirate game or a late lunch or in-park break.

We were there on Mother's Day last year. They handed out carnations to mothers on the way into MK. I didn't take one since I didn't want to carry it around all day and I didn't want to just throw it out. I don't remember it being any busier than the rest of the week.

I didn't think the crowds were bad then. I went that weekend last year and was at the California Grill brunch and Animal Kingdom on mother's day. It felt like a normal park day. I had a friend that did a gender reveal in Magic Kingdom. They were wearing shirts about the baby and then bought a blue and pink Mickey balloon. They had photopass take the pictures and in the first picture had both balloons and then the second picture took away the blue balloon to show they were having a girl. It was cute.

We are arriving on Mother's Day. Should be interesting after a 18-20 hour drive. I'm excited no matter what!

We usually drive the 16 hours but this trip we are flying for the 1st time! Kids first flight too. There was a good deal on Feontier so we booked this last minute. I have always wanted to visit in early May so I'm excited!

I heard about someone who bought a Mickey Ear hat and handed the sealed envelope to the Cast Member for embroidery and opened the bag in front of a Photographer. The surprise was revealed in the colour of the stitching and either Mickey or Minnie depending on the gender. That way they were surprised as well.

We were at MK last Mother’s Day. It was our first park day. Not super busy, but the busiest day of our visit (we were there until Friday.) Not sure if it was Mother’s Day or the fact that it was Sunday.

While it was the busiest day of the visit, it was not too crowded at all. Very manageable.

I am thinking about doing something like that...maybe let a trustworthy friend from home open the ultrasound pic so she can buy an appropriate banner. She could put it in a manila envelope that we take with us. Then we could open in front of a photographer on Main St. The kids would be so excited to find out.
