Magic Kingdom on labor day?

I checked their hours a week ago and it showed they close at 7PM on labor day. I checked this morning and it showed midnight, now it shows 7PM again. Am I crazy?

You are not crazy. MK closes to regular park guests at 7pm on Labor Day. The first MNSSHP of the season will take place that night from 7pm until midnight.

Yes, the park will be decorated for Halloween. The party is a "hard-ticket" event. Tickets cost around $62 each. Guests without a party ticket will have to leave the park at 7pm. Guests with party tickets can enter the park at 4pm. If you have a multi day ticket, you will burn a park day if you go to the park prior to 4pm. That may or may not be important to you if you decide to attend the party.

If you only want to go to the event, you need just a ticket for it. You can enter the park earlier at 4pm but you will not have FPes to use.

If you want to go to MK earlier than 4, you will need a regular ticket and also a hard ticket for the event.

Now if you only want to go to MK, you would just need a regular ticket but would be escorted out at 7pm. MNSSHP guests get a wristband and anyone without one will not be allowed on rides, at restaurants, or in giftshops past 7pm.

Also, you can not use one of your days on a multi day ticket for the hard ticketed event.

Someone just told me the decorations will be complete by 9/01 in time for the first MNSSHP

You will definitely get a taste, since the decorations are not put up in a single night.
