Magic Kingdom night in December

We're going to DW in early December.

We want to see MK at night, but do not want to go to the evening Christmas thingy. (maybe in a few years when my son will appreciate it more)

What time do they start kicking people out of the parks? And how does this work? Will they chase us down with big sticks? Will there be giant dogs nipping at our feet? Elves throwing snowballs at us?

Will there be fireworks that night at 6? Or not until the Christmas thingy?

Will it be crazy trying to get out of the park after the fireworks? Will we get stuck in some human traffic jam?

My ideal thing would be to hang out in Fantasyland or Tunetown during fireworks. (Not sure how my son will react to fireworks and the crowds...so don't want to be too close to the action!!!!) Hang out some more to avoid the Main Street congestion and then leave. Will this work?

Other question. We'll be driving. We're going to go to Epcot in the morning. Would it be better to park at Epcot, then take monerail to MK and back to Epcot after we're done with MK. Not to stay at Epcot...just to get to our car.

Or would it work better to drive from Epcot to Magic Kingdom and just head to TTC after we're done with MK?

I'm just wondering if the TTC is going to be a crowded scary swarm of people at that time????

first of all.. I think they start looking for arm bands and getting people out of the parks that way.. and second of all.. fireworks are not till after the Christmas party parade.. so if you don't have a ticket.. you will miss it..

I don't know how old your child is.. but my little girl went when she was 15 months and loved it!

I say.. go on to the party if you can.. just my 2 cents.. hope I helped. :cool1:

Saturday and Sunday night usually have fireworks for everyone and Sunday night is 3 extra hours.

If you go on a night they have MVMCP they will direct you toward the exits at the "Official" park closing time. You can find the hours on the Disney website.
Much of Fantasyland is closed to the guests during the Fireworks. And I think that Toontown has different hours from the rest of the park which would mean it is closed earlier so you can't hang out there for the fireworks. There is always a human traffic jam after the fireworks so it doesn't matter what night it is. My preferred less crowded spot for the fireworks is on the wooden walkways in frontierland by the river.

If you go to MK a night they are open later you will enjoy the full experience of the lights & decorations at night.

As for your parking question I would suggest that if you plan to end your day at MK that you use the MK parking lot instead of the EPCOT one. Just take the Monorail to EPCOT after Parking. That way when you finish up at MK you can go to your car instead of having to go all the way back to EPCOT.

On party nights in December, Wishes is scheduled for 6 P.M.
So, the OP will get to see the fireworks even if he doesn't attend the party.

Good!

Although I'm not even sure we want to see them. I guess it will depend on how we're feeling...how tired my son is.

My son might like it, but I don't think he's going to like it enough to make us glad we paid 90 dollars for it.

He doesn't like rides, characters, etc...so it's already kind of crazy to pay the park admission just for the regular hours. To add 90+ dollars (for the 3 of us) would be over the top.

Plus, we like Christmas....but we're not huge Christmas junkies (well, maybe because we're not Christian) So it will probably satisfy us enough just to see the Christmas trees and decorations. If anything, maybe we'll tour all the hotels and look at decorations. (on the days we don't go to the parks)
