This seems like a silly question but Google isn't bringing me simple answers. My DS is turning 1 on our trip. Instead of doing a $21 cake for him/us, I thought just a cupcake for him might be better. We are eating dinner that night at Crystal Palace. Are there places (quick service, snack stands, stores on Main St) where I can buy a cupcake or two? Easy to find, and good choices or just kinda plain vanilla cupcake (first sweets for DS don't need to be triple chocolate or red velvet etc). Thanks!

My DD celebrated a birthday at Crystal Palace and received a free vanilla cupcake with Disney sprinkles and a candle. We noted her birthday on the reservation. Maybe you could ask your server for this? Sounds like that is all you want - a simple cupcake with a candle just to celebrate the occasion. Now, having said that, you can't expect a cupcake. We've been there for a few birthday celebrations (it's our favourite character meal) but only once have we received the cupcake. If you want to make sure you have a cupcake for the meal, I would probably pop into Starbucks (near Crystal Palace) and get a cupcake. I know that when we were there in the summer that they had a few kinds of cupcakes there. They might give you a candle at CP to put in cupcake.

Thank you for replying! I also see now on a map that CP is near a Bakery on Main Street. I have read that the restaurants all have candles if you ask. I tried to note His birthday on the ADR but it only had space for allergy info so I didn't note it. I don't need the restaurant to do anything - I just didn't want to end up not being able to buy a cupcake somewhere prior to dinner- that would be super sad.

If you're staying onsite, note that he has a birthday during the trip during check-in. They should provide a birthday button for him. Have him wear it, and you'll be surprised at all the "stuff" he *may* wind up with. If you're staying offsite or don't get a button at the resort, go by City Hall just inside the gate at MK and get him a birthday button. Most waitstaff notice the buttons, or will ask if you're celebrating anything on the trip. Our son got lots of the "free" standard cupcakes at many of the restaurants we dined at simply for wearing his button.

I know it's a lot further from the restaurant but I think they also have a fun selection of cupcakes under the big tent across from the dumbo ride :)

Oh thanks! We can get one earlier in the day & stick it in the stroller. I just want to make sure I have one ;) and a 'normal' one that he could eat not triple fudge peanut butter with raspberry cream just vanilla or chocolate. Need not to go crazy at his 1st bday.
