I rea don the WDW website that they have a firework show for the Christmas season. Has any one seen them? Are they any good? If they weren't as good as Wishes i was just planning on going over to MGM after a day at MK and see Fantasmic. Any suggestions?

I'd like to know this also. We will see the Christmas fireworks at MVMCP. I've wondered if we should also try to see the regular Wishes on a different night. (We've seen it before)

This year there is a brand new show, Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season. It sounds very promising, but details are still scarce. However, it will presumably feature perimeter fireworks (launched not just behind the castle, but from all around the Magic Kingdom.) The old Fantasy in the Sky special holiday shows were always amazing. If Disney combines the techniques of these and the emotional appeal of Wishes, I would expect that this show will definitely be worth catching. (Especially considering it's only offered a few days a year.) :wave2:

No details on the "new" show, but I am confident in saying it will be Wishes and more. How much more is the only question. So, there really wouldn't be a need to see Wishes seperately if you don't have the time.

The MK holiday fireworks have evolved over time. Going back several years, you used to have a special holiday version of Fantasy In the Sky at MVMCP. I loved it. It was Fantasy in the Sky, and I used to love watching people at MVMCP who didn't know they were in store for more when it "ended". But, what what that sound I heard? Could it be sleigh bells? Yes, I think that is sleigh bells........and what's that? Goofy? Could that be Santa Goofy? Why yes it was. Now at this point all those unwitting people who started to wander off stopped in their tracks. What followed was the holiday portion of the fireworks. We're talking sunstantial fireworks, set to holiday music, with incredible perimeter shells surrounding the entire park. You were'nt watching the fireworks, you were immersed in them. Way cool.

Alas, when FITS went the way of the dodo bird and Wished was born all that changed. What was presented at MVMCP was a holiday version of Wishes, but this holiday version consisted of nothing more than a few extra shells and a couple of perimeter fireworks. Needless to say, after having experienced the holiday version of FITS from the past I was left feeling a little underwhelmed.

Let's hope this "new" Holiday Wishes is a little more like what they used to have. Wishes, plus a whole lot more.

Does anyone know when they start the Holiday fireworks?? Will they start them before Christmas Day??? Are they just for MVMCP??? Thanks!!! :flower:

As far as I know they will only be shown at the MVMCP parties.

I have a feeling, based on the 'new' fireworks shown at MNSSHP this year called "Hallowishes" that the 'new' fireworks at MVMCP called "Holidaywishes" will be VERY different from the regular Wishes fireworks. Hallowishes were NOTHING like Wishes and had no similarities. We'll see if the same is true for Holidaywishes; we should know by November 27!!
