Magic Kingdom Cake????

We will be in the MK on April 8, 2005 and coincidentally our best friends and godparents to our children will be there the same day. We will be spending part of the day together.

We already have PS for CRT that a.m. and at night we are going to the Hoop de Doo review.

My DD will be turning 3 during our cruise portion of the trip and because our friends and their child are there at the same time, we wanted to have cake to celebrate her birthday in the early afternoon. The problem?? Well, CRT does not take priority seatings for this unless you order lunch. We will be a party of 11 with all the kids etc.

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions how to share with our friends ie: cake that day?? Has anyone done this?? Unfortunately they cannot be addede to the Hoop de Doo review and be guaranteed that they would be sitting with us so that option would not work either. They are not in the park until 11:00 a.m. so that eliminates them from the breakfast possibility as well.

Any thoughts???

Have you thought about the Main Street Bakery? Maybe they can do a cake?

If you are staying onsite I've read that you can have a small birthday cake delivered to your room. I think it's the Grand Floridian that does this, someone posted a phone number on here recently about how to do this. I'd suggest a search for birthday cake.

From the sounds of it, you are limited to just those few hours together in the MK with your friends. If leaving the MK is an option, you could try a PS at the Grand Floridian Cafe. I'm not sure if they are as strict as the CRT with having to order lunch. If they'd just allow you to come in for drinks and the cake, then you can contact the bakery at 407-824-2982 to order. They need 48 hours notice and have many choices and price ranges. Perhaps they could make the cake for you and have it delivered to the Main Street bakery if you didn't want to leave the MK. It's definitely worth a phone call to find out. I know that they do deliver to other resorts, so it doesn't seem like an odd request to me.

The Main Street Bakery is on the right hand side. I think it's the 3rd or 4th store. There is a small seating area inside. Worst case scenario is that you'll have to take a quick trip over to the GF and pick up the cake yourself from the bakery. If that happens, when you leave the MK, just hop on the resort boat launch (located just to the left of the monorail station). The GF is the first stop. Walk straight ahead, about a 5 minute walk, until you get to the main building. 1900 Park Faire is located to the right of the guest registration desk. You could also ask about paper plates and utensils, I don't know if they supply them or you'd need your own. Once you have your cake, go upstairs to the 2nd floor and hop on the monorail right back to the park. The whole trip shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. If you have all your supplies, you could pretty much sit anywhere and enjoy the cake. The Rose Garden, kind of hidden to the left as you walk across the bridge into Tomorrowland would be a great spot also. It's usually very quiet.

A second option, would be to contact the pixies at www.giftsofalifetime.com. They are not affiliated with Disney, but have set up some amazing in park celebrations. They need some time to plan things out and prices can range from $165 to $350 depending on what you're looking for. It would definitely be a one of kind celebration though.
