Hi, I'm having a hard time figuring out where to eat for my 40th Bday on 12/31/09. Yes everyone will be celebrating my bday. :)

My question is I need help finding the perfect place at Magic Kingdom. Any suggestions or back door numbers that I can somehow get a reservation for 10 persons?

I perfer to really make this a special 40th for myself and family.

Any help would be great.

Have you not tried the (407) WDW-DINE number? I would assume this close to the date (especially with it being New Year's Eve), your going to have to take whatever you can get for a party that size. You may even have to leave the park and eat at one of the monorail resort or WL.

Not to be a downer, but it's really not going to be about where you want to eat, but more about where you're going to be able to eat. We're doing a last minute trip from 12/28-01/03, and I made my dining reservations almost a month ago. We're spending NYE in Epcot, and the only thing I could get for dinner was a 4:10 reservation at Tokyo Dining. There was nothing later. Nothing.

So I would call Disney Dining and see what they can find for you. As someone mentioned, the resorts might be your best bet. I know DHS also had some later openings a few weeks ago, but Epcot and MK are basically booked solid.

I just looked and there is nothing available for either MK or Epcot on NYE for dinner. It did pull up a few other places like Artist Point or Whispering Canyon.

If you have a party of 10 or more you are supposed to call a different number, 407-939-5665. I would just call and figure out what they have open and take it from there. There really isn't a backdoor way to get a reservation, it is the same process for everyone.

Not to be a downer, but it's really not going to be about where you want to eat, but more about where you're going to be able to eat.

1) Yep.
2) I would think there is nothing available in MK at this date.
3) You might find a Signature eatery with some space.
4) Although you probably can't all sit together.
5) last minute ressies for a holiday are tough.
6) Let alone for a large group.

NOTE: The only way to get into an MK eatery is to find a concierge with an override code. There is usually 1-2 per resort.

as you can see, from what the others have said....probably not a chance to have any place for even two people let alone a large group......Maybe you could all sit at a counter service together. Also because this is New Years Eve, you had better be at the park of your choice early and dont leave .....sometimes they have to shut the gates if it is over crowded.

I think it will be difficult to get anything special on NYE at MK at this late date as others have said.

Check out the places in the Swan and Dolphin.
They are not cheap buy they are top quality, better than most meals in the Disney run restaurants IMO.

In the Dolphin you have Shula's steak house.
Top quality steaks, far superior to anything Disney offers.
Probably the best steak in Florida according to many.
Also in the Dolphin in the Blue Zoo. Amazing seafood and atmosphere.

There is Il Mulino in the swan. High quality Italian food. I have not been here yet myself, but I here it is very good.

Also in the Swan is Kimonos. It is a Lounge\Sushi bar.
They also have some nice Udon Noodle soups and a few other items that are not fish.
What is fun about this place is the people making fools of themselves doing karaoke.
Not sure how late they allow children inside (if that is an issue), but since it is a lounge I would think you are ok.

Going outside of Disney may be an option, but most decent places will probably be having New Years Eve parties that are around $25-$35 to walk in the door.

You may try calling the Disney 407 Disney reservation number and explain the situation.
Since it is the last day of the Birthday Celebration Promotion maybe they can do something.
I would not get your hopes up though.

For my 2 cents, try the Grand Floridian Cafe. Honestly, I think the best salmon I ever had was there last September. It doesn't get much press, but we thought it was the best meal we had in a week.
