Magic Key Back on Sale on 11/6 at 9am PT

I am “scared” about how this VQ will work….

I need to upgrade tickets then calling might be a better choice but I dont want to be waiting for hours 🙃

Do you have a current MK that you want to upgrade? Or do you have tickets purchased that you want to convert to a MK?

Upgrading a MK is considered two forms of payment (the MK and your GC/CC/cash for the remainder) and can only be done in person at the ticket booth.

Off the top of my head, I think Imagine sold out in a few hours, the rest were available long-term until they pulled them at the beginning of the summer. (Something like three months.)
Thats good to hear, unfortunately I would have to buy the top tier one for all of our travel dates.

Tickets purchased to convert to a MK…
does it have to be at ticket booth?
(Hopefully it doesn’t!)
Thanks

Do any of you have a price breakdown for the monthly payments and down payment amount? I'm trying to decide how I want to do this since it's been a couple of years since I've had keys and knowing how the queue works/doesn't work, I want to be fully prepared with options. Thanks.

I believe an unused ticket can only be converted using the app once you actually use it to scan into the park.

In previous years the best practice was to buy a day ticket and just upgrade through the app in the park vs trying to buy a new one through the ticket booth or VQ.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, that's only possible at a ticket booth. You can't upgrade an unusued ticket to an MK online or in the app. There's typically an hours-long line of people at the park on the day that MKs go back on sale doing that. (They usually assign one booth for that purpose on MK sale day - the other booths aren't able to do that.)

What Astroblasters said is true, too - you can also use the ticket to enter a park and upgrade in the app. A lot of folks who were waiting in line at the booth last time were encouraged to walk into a park and do that. With that option, you would also need to have your entire family present - each of the tickets needs to be used to be upgraded. The big difference with the park upgrade option - the MK will be activated as of that day - the year would start that day. (An MK upgrade at a booth would not be active, and you could wait to start its year of use until later.)

I'm still not convinced that anything other than Imagine will sell out quickly, so you might be fine if you wait a few days and do it at the park. It's a little bit of a gamble though.

It might. When I was waiting in line in person to upgrade my pass, there were lots of people with So Cal 3 days passes who were there to upgrade to MK. The CM were helping them make a reservation for the park for that day so that they could enter the park and immediately upgrade on their app. Upgrading an active ticket took a minute or two and was a lot faster than waiting several hours in line.

Thanks all for the comments.. I live in Dallas and can’t go on the 6th… so … 🍀VQ / call in 🍀🍀

I did.. :(.. no way to upgrade those tickets without stepping into the park and/or ticket boot..

I need to decide if it is worth it as I have 3 groups of tickets already bought.. 10d total..

Thanks for the responses anyhow..

I'm still debating whether I plan to renew or not. I didn't mind the small price hike from the year before, taking the Imagine Key from $449 to $499, but raising it by another hundred a year later ($599) is kinda rubbish. There's no reason for that big of a price hike in such a short time frame.

I'm strongly considering just letting it go and trading it for a Prestige Pass for SFMM (then I get Bring a Friend days and can take my buddy Sean) and a Planet Fitness membership.

What pass are you looking at? Can you use your already purchased tickets to go on days when the pass is blocked?

Can I? For example one of the tickets I have is for 5 days, I understand that after first usage (say one Saturday that the MK is blocked) I have only 3 days more after the date it was supposed to be used.. isn’t it?

I'm curious about this too. If you have, for instance, a 3-day Park Hopper, do they have to be used back to back days, or can you spread them out throughout the year?
