Magic Jack - anyone have? does it work?

DH has been considering this. We currently have an internet based phone service but we don't use it that much so he was thinking Magic Jack was a better option. Any opinions?

One of my brother in laws used this for a short time earlier this year. He was all praises about it and wanted us to try it, but he stopped using it after about 3 months. When I ask all he says is "I don't use it anymore".

We have it and I don't like it. It's unreliable and I always forget to sign in. We lose internet on our main computer quite a bit, so that might be a big part of it.
