Ok...I'll bite Maureen! Can you give us newbies some FE info? For instance, do you have to include FE's for your whole family? Since we're in 3 cabins, not sure the older set and the young adults want to take part. Are there alot of folks (ie: more than 50?), and if so, do you split up groups, or everyone do all? Do you do FE's for just one day or every day? Do you make homemade or buy and do you put limits or is it anyone's choice? And how do you get all that on the ship with all the luggage? See...popcorn:: some of us have been looking but afraid to ask!:rolleyes1

To answer with the info I have at this point. Our current FE group consist of 12 adults,2 teensand 1 toddler chi. So at this point NO there are not a lot of people. The group WILL get bigger, but only time will tell how big. When the final number is reached, then it will be time to decide if its worth it to split groups, and who does what when etc.

My suggestion is ask everybody in your party and invite them to the thread if they want to chat/lurk etc. and see just how many may want to do this. You don't have to have all 3 cabins in the FE. It is entirely up to you.

Please bare with me..... pm? Not quite sure what that stands for with the exception of some type of messaging. The only thing that comes to mind is post messaging? And which first post am I looking at? I'm a little slow sometimes...

Anywho..this brings my post count up to 7!

Additionally, what other information is needed?

Thank you!

PMs=Private Messages. Under your DIS name is a link to "Your notifications" You can go here to read/send messages to other people on the boards.

Glad I'm not alone in this! Another question to add, is there a theme for the gifts? I noticed some people use pirate stuff but some bring things from their hometown to use as souvinirs. I thought it was neat to see people in England that partake in this as well. Its really neat that this is spreading to international folks too!

It is very neat. I love having international folks in the FE.

Since we are having questions I'm going to answer them ins this post. All this is based on what I know right now. Which means we have a small FE group, which will likely get larger, but we'll have to wait and see.

These are what I feel comfortable with. The idea is to have fun, not to have anybody be put out.

So here goes:

Budgets: That is YOUR OWN personal decision. Minimum and maximum amounts to spend WILL NOT be assigned. Only you know how much you can afford/want to spend on it so that is up to you completely.

Gifts: Do not feel bad if you give only 1 gift per cabin/family. Dh and I did this last time, that's what our budget was. We did ornaments last time(which we forgot to take pictures of)It was heartfelt and fun and people enjoyed them. If you want to and have the budget to give adult gifts and kid gifts that's fine too. Our last FE consisted of some people who gave to everybody and others, like us, who just gave for the entire cabin or family if there was more than 1 cabin. As long as it is heartfelt and fun, that's all we're looking for here.

Homemade/crafts: Again, your personal choice. If you enjoy doing this type of stuff and have the time/budget(often cheaper btw) then have a blast and do whatever you feel like. If you are not the craftsy type, please go right ahead and just buy your gifts. Any and all types are appreciated.

Theme: No over riding particular them you must adhere to. If you have for your gifts, as many people like to do(Cruise meet theme, or Pirate night for example) then that's great. If you just want to be random and give fun stuff, the more the merrier.
You must give a gift if you are signing up!! I've seen a couple of mentions that some people are not giving stuff, just hoarding. I really would hate to see that happen here. This is about the GIVING.

I will have to go take pictures of some of the FE stuff we have from last time. But examples are an art print, small pouches, keychains, a music CD and a luggage tag.

Quite a few included snacks/candy in their gift packages. This is handy to bring to shows. Saves you money from buying at the counter if you're hungry and have late seating like we did last time.

Any other rules will be decided as the group is finished signing up. I think we'll likely go by majority rule on splitting groups and days to give etc.

But this is it for now:wizard:

Buying is just ducky:thumbsup2 I'll be happy to get whatever you give, and I'm sure everyone else will as well.

And please feel free to crash the wedding with TIGGER/POOH4 and me and Rich. :dance3:

I was looking for some items and came across my 2008 Passporter book. If any newbie is interested in it, PM me and I can ship it to you. Since we are on the Magic, 90% of it should still be relavent today.

Konk cooler - the yummiest drink on CC. Take advantage of their specials the last couple of hours before you board the ship. We had 2 for 1 konk coolers! :cool1::cool1:

Um.......what's a Konk cooler......?

You have been on 4 Disney cruises and you have not had 1 of these?

Oh my goodness we are going to be very busy corrupting you on this thread:rolleyes1

And just FYI for the rest of the newbies. All specialty drinks are available spiked or non-spiked.

mmmm....Konk Koolers...love them! There's nothing more relaxing and wonderful than drinking a konk kooler while relaxing in chair or hammock on serenity bay. That's DH & I's favorite place!!
We also love to try out the drink of the day. They are always tasty and not expensive. Watch out for those margaritas though...DH & I got some one time and they were so strong I couldn't finish mine! DH was feeling pretty good by the time we went back to our state room that night. I'm not sure if the boat was making him knock into the walls or the margaritas!! :rotfl:

Ohhhhhhh!!!!! I'll have to have you guys show me all your secrets! Apparently, I've been missing out :sad1: Lead me to the konk coolers and I'll be there :cool2: Let's party :woohoo:

Oh Knok coolers are awesome. Here is a tip for the newbies, first we do not need to be at Castaway Cay to enjoy them, second, at the Knoked out Bar usually between 1-2 drinks are 2 for 1.

You are going to LOVE it!!!!!! My first Disney Cruise was in 2008. This is my 4th and I want to go every year from now on. It is extremely addicting!

They really are addicting! DH & I went on our first cruise for our honeymoon in 2008 - it was a 3 day becuase DH wasn't sure he'd like to cruise since he'd never been on one. Needless to say, cruising with Disney is awesome and changed his mind. This will be our 4th cruise and if we can do it, we want to go on one every year. :sail:

Heck, I'd want to live there! Actually, for some people its cheaper for them. I know somebody who pays $7000 a month on their house which includes their amenities and stuff. It is absurd! I need to find a Prince Charming or else I'm not sure I can afford once a year. I'm gonna try though.
