Ok I looked up who i was thinking of before for St. Martin. And this is it. LOTS of recommendations on the main board.

Dh and I were talking and brainstorming about the trip tonight and we know we would like to get to the French side of the island which we didn't last time.

Sounds good, but after my DW tour in Cabo that she booked thru DCL, there is no way I will go on a private tour not sponsored by DCL. Long story short. Her tour was almost a hour late back to the ship. Because of this the ship left about a hour late.

I'm pretty sure I want to do the "Mountain Top Downhill Rainforest Trek" excursion offered through DCL at St. Maarten. It seems like a fabulous way to see the island. Has anyone done this before?

I'm at a loss for St. Thomas though. Nothing really jumps out at me. I think I'd like to do a more relaxing beach-type day since our St. Maarten stop will be more active, but I'm not sure which one. Suggestions?

In St. Thomas we like to take the Sky Ride to Paradise Point. Up there I like to go to the bar and get a Balies Bushwacker.

Hey, is it possible to do a few hour beach tour and do the skyride when you come back? I was hoping to fit in both but I also want to do some liquor shopping close to the ship? For those of you who have been, is that possible?:confused3

Well that sounds like a great plan! :thumbsup2

Is there a place to have lunch or do any shopping up there?

I'm a little claustrophobic, but I can usually deal with it for short amounts of time. How long is the Sky Ride?

The ride up is maybe 5 min and 5 min back down. There is limited shoping and there is food. I don't buy food off the ship generally because I have paid for it on the ship so I can't comment on how good the food is.

Yeah, I kinda think about that too. Not much jumps out at me for St. Martin from DCL though save for the 12 metre regatta. Want to get a new Passporter to find out what's current. Don't really feel like spending a lot of time on DCL site to figure it out.

Yup good thing she was on a DCL tour or she would have missed the ship. Lesson learned, of course we always book thru DCL just for this reason.

I'd say so too. We'll see where we wind up when the time comes. I have heard that bridge traffic can be a nightmare. So we'd likely pick an earlier tour time. We wanna see a few planes and a different area than Phillipsburg where we just walked and shopped on our last cruise.

The ride up the hill is only a few minutes. There is a nice place to have a drink or eat at the top. Here are a few pics of the ride and the view.

Thank you for the info and for posting those pics! I'm sure I'd be able to handle it and I think the kids would find it fun too.

They love the Magic so much that I have a hard time getting them off the ship unless we're at Castaway Cay. Whenever I ask them what excursions they want to do that always say, "we can just stay on the ship."

I would like them to see something!

So this sounds perfect. It won't take up the whole day, but will at least get them to experience the island for a little while.

Boy those pics remind me of my trip to NM. I'll have to look that up, stayed in Albequerqi(sp?) and took a sky ride to the top of a mountain and hiked all over the place. It was awesome, almost didn't make it off the mountain:lmao:

Do you sit or stand in the skyride? Kinda looks like standing to me.

On the Skyride I would stand due to the view is incredible of the harbor and the Magic.

It snowed a foot of wet snow last night. Woke up to shoveling and then the kids built a snowman and went sledding down the snow piles. We're are sooo ready for the cruise.

You guys look like us with all of our snow!! I had a heck of a time driving home yesterday. I was hoping where I worked would have been closed today, but no such luck! :sad2:

I wondered about that. Saw a little of Regis and Kelly this morning during my break and they had the weather guy on, and he mentioned that Philly had gotten 15 inches out of the storm. Unbelievable. :sad2:

Sorry you are seeing the same snow. Where are you located? Renee was coming home last night from work (NICU nurse) at midnight and made it fine until our neighborhood. She got stuck two streets from the house and parked it. We had to dig out the car this morning. The bad thing was if she had been one hour later the plows came through and would have gotten stuck. Sorry you had to go to work. We closed our office today. We are in need of a happy spot reminder.

I think somehow mother nature is getting Philly confused with Buffalo. :lmao: Enough snow already.

Ahhhh.........I love the hammock pic.

I could sure use me a hammock and a Konk Kooler right about now!

Why I love L.A. and pay the CA taxes. Our high today should be about 75-77
