I will throw it out that the DVC Members cruise has done this with Shutters taking the pic. There was a sitting fee, but it can be split.

Since it was your idea Laura: I'm nominating YOU to organize it:worship:

FEs Question for All Participants:

Anyone celebrating anything special on the cruise? Just wanted to know as I start putting together my FE game plan :)

Hi it's my dd Cerys 9 th birthday on the 8th October the day we set sail :cheer2: what a birthday present. :banana:

Did you manage to get to the beach then?

It got a lot nicer here around 1.30, so we just had a barb-q for our tea it was delicious, now i am sitting getting tucked into our local strawberries, wish we could give them as an FE gift they are the best strawberries ever around here.

Think i should go for a walk along the beach now to try and work of some of the calories from the bbq, that if i could peel myself away from this laptop:lmao:

You mean there are restaurants other than Outback Steakhouse and Fuddruckers in the area???? :rotfl2:

How much is the set up fee for the t-shirt? Since the shirt is $19 and the last list we only had you and me on the order form...I would hate to pay too much more for the shirt.

Laura, my DD is a professional photographer and she said she would be happy to take the photo of the group. No sitting fee! Then she'll just email everyone the high res photo for printing when we get home! So now all you have to do is pick the time and place!

I am thinking probably within 15-30 mins before the party starts since some people will just be finishing dinner then and somewhere close to deck 9.

Actually, as long as we get 15 minimum orders your total price should come out to less than Customink was charging us. Because the lowest quote I got from them was $28.00, that was all based on how many colors we had in our logo. This company does a 1 time prep fee per image. So as long we get a bunch it should come out much less than the other site.

So far we have 8 total orders.

As for place I would suggest the atrium on front of the Mickey Helmsman statue. Makes for a great background. You can take pics from Deck 3 or 4 for different angles. The when is a lot harder since most likely half are in early dining and the rest in late.

Sounds great! Most of the time I go by there and there are always characters signing autographs. Do you think the spot will be clear for us before the pirate party starts?

The characters for the most part are on the sides. The only time I can remember seeing photos in front of the statue is formal night and the princess gathering but you never know. Also having it right before the pirate party could create problem. People like me like to go up early to the party and get a good spot for the party or else you you will be standing behind several people with a view of the back of their heads. :scared1:

You veterans may know this: what all is going on during the pirate party? Do they have characters and stuff the whole time or is there a lull in there when everyone is eating? :confused3 I thought if they had some time during the middle that we could do the picture then?

Well, the deck party starts at 9:45. But the whole thing sort of kicks off at dinner time because the waiters are dressed like pirates, and the dinner table is set to a pirate theme as well. So I think that if we can do some photos between the main seating and late seating that might work well. I believe the deck party lasts about 45 minutes.

are you still away in the caravan? I have to agree Scottish strawberries are the best :) Hope you a great BBQ :cheer2:
 
Like others have said, the party starts at 9:45. If you watch it closely enough you see how much it resembles the sailaway just with Pirate Costumes. Still for the newbies it will be a "Blast". As for me. I will grab some food at the buffet at 10:30 and head straight to Rockin Bar D. That is what I do during Pirate night. Also it is a good time to hit up the stores really quick.
