So, I screwed up. First two days of trip, staying at Port Orleans. Next (and last) 2 days Swan...that means we can not use Magic Express to get back to the airport, correct? TIA

How are you getting from Port Orleans to The Swan ?

For Return just go back to Port Orleans the same way ?

She won't be able to go to Port Orleans to take the bus to the airport because she will not be staying at a Disney resort the day she leaves. Swan is not a Disney resort therefore no Magic Express back to the airport. She will need to Uber or Mears back to the airport

Do they check each guest that gets onto the M.E. Bus ,going back to airport , to make sure that they

stayed at Port Orleans & have just checked out ?

You can take DME to the airport before your check out date but not after.

Night before you check out you get a letter with a barcode. You give it to the driver. Lose the letter the front desk will reprint it.
Driver also has a printed list. My understanding is Mears needs the letters in order to be paid.

OP should just take uber or lyft to mco. No big deal.

Yes they do!

Each party gets a printed voucher delivered to their room the day prior to departure with the pick up time - this is your bus. If your not a guest of the resort on the day of travel your not eligible and you won't have the proper paperwork to board the bus.

yes they scan everyone's MB to verify you are a resort guest before allowing you on the bus. And to make sure if you are a guest that you are have a ME reservation to get on that particular bus.

I have never had my magic band scanned to get on the magic express to go home. I handed the driver the letter and got on the bus.

Not trying to say the OP should try anything, but just trying to point out that they don't scan your band on the way back to the airport.

Yes, they check. You need to hand over the letter and they take that as your "admission ticket" to the worst ride on property...

OP - Uber or Minnie Van your way back. Or, Mears (if they still do the shuttle service...might just be taxis now?)

Try what? Guests boarding a DME bus returning to MCO are required to provide a letter from DME listing date, time and flight information. Guests who don't have the letter go to the front desk and have the letter reprinted. Mears presents those letters to Disney to secure payment.

I was struggling to find a way to say it, but didn't want to end my post with "they don't check your band" because I felt like that was implying you could try to get away with something. There were earlier posts that suggested the OP could go back to POR and take ME, but you can't.

Just take an Uber or Lyft back to the airport. It was around $40 when my son took it back to the airport from the Dolphin this past April.

So much easier than taking ME.

They only time DME scans a MB is on the inbound, once when you check in and then again just before leaving the building to board the bus.

On the outbound you are given a paper "voucher" with your departure time and number of guests, this is handed to the driver when you board.

Yes they do check! I have been waiting to board after a family that tried to get on an early bus, unfortunately the driver didn't have seats for them so they had to wait.

No, they don't scan your magicband.

Uber or Lyft will cost less for a group of 2 or more.

Yep, but some people have an aversion to those sorts of services. Good to know all the available options and how much they cost.
