I need help with a ME question. My oldest DS is leaving WDW before we do. He has a 7:00am flight on SWA. What time does ME start running? I'm wondering whether it might be better to order a taxi ahead of time. Any thoughts?

DME would pick him up around 4ish. Your ds would bring his luggage with him to the bus, then the driver would stow it underneath the bus. Taking a cab would cut down on the earliness but not by a lot. You should be leaving the resort for the ride back to MCO about 2 1/2 hrs before your flight departure time. So, DME picks you up about 30 mins before a cab or a towncar service would. Don't try to cut it too close at the airport...security lines have been horrendous lately.

I paid $57.00 plus tip for a taxi from WDW to MCO about 2 years ago. A one way towncar current price is $60.00 - $65.00 plus tip. Comparable to a taxi and you know the TC will be waiting for him.

Having used DME for an early return to the airport I will mention that it was fine, pick up at 5:30 am, one stop at the resorts and then on to MCO. Both times I used DME I needed the three hour advance pick up. The security lines at MCO were very long, over 45 minutes on my last trip.

Whatever you decide, towncar, taxi or DME, I recommend planning additional time to clear security at MCO.
