Magic Express or Shuttle

When we went last year it was nice not to have to get our luggage but the line for ME was long and then we stood in another line to board a bus. The line for the bus for our resort was short but I remember the line for AS resorts was long. We will be staying at POP. Taking into consideration having to get our luggage ourselves will it be quicker to take a shuttle to the resort?If we do take the shuttle can we check the luggage at POP and have them take it to the room or will we have to lug it ourselves? I will pay to get there if it means I can get to WDW sooner.

I'm not sure what "shuttle" you're referring to.

There are three main choices for getting from Orlando International to a Disney-operated resort -- Disney's Magical Express, a rental car, or private transportation (towncar, limo, van, SUV).

Al three choices take a similar amount of time. Disney's Magical Express can be the fastest or the slowest, depending upon when you arrive in relation to when your motorcoach is dispatched.

When it comes to luggage, I prefer Disney's Magical Express. I like bypassing baggage claim and I like have my bags delivered to my room whether I'm in it or not.

With private transportation, you and your luggage will normally be dropped off at your resort's check-in lobby.

With a rental car, your luggage will be in you trunk -- so it's a matter of how the parking lots are set up at your resort.

Use ME, the time it takes for you to get your bags and find the shuttle etc etc, you would probably be on the ME bus by then. Relax and enjoy your vacation!

we took the me last time and i know what your saying about the lines...we waiteda n hour to board the bus to the resort, then they misplaced our luggage. we arrived at 3,they didnt bring them to us till 12am???i think id rather get them myself and then board the bus.

We used Magical Express for the first time a couple weeks ago. It was a dream. But, we did arrive late in the afternoon due to a Delta mishap so there was no line for any of the resorts and a bus was waiting for us (this was at 4:30-5:00 ish in the afternoon. I would assume mornings would be a lot busier (when we should have arrived )

Not dealing with the luggage at the airport, or during the check in process, and going directly to the parks and coming back to our home at "POP" and having our luggage waiting for us was sweet.

I am sure there are mishaps with Magical Express as well, but we thoroughly enjoyed the whole process with no problems at all.

I guess we've been lucky - no lines at all for anything except for once at the counter inside the airport and the wait was about 5-7 minutes and the line moved quickly. I love ME; not having to lug our bags is heavenly!

I used ME for the first time a few weeks ago - it was wonderful. Waited only 10 minutes - luggage was back in the room when we got back that evening. It was truly magical!
